Gardner-Webb University Women's Lacrosse

Chris Harris enters his first season as the head coach of the Runnin' Bulldogs after serving as the interim head coach during the 2024-25 season.  During his first season on the sideline at GWU, Harris helped to guide the Dawgs to a Big South Conference Tournament berth, its first since the 2022 season and only the second in team history. Under Harris' leadership, Gardner-Webb placed two members on the Big South All-Conference Team as well as one on the Big South All-Academic Team and a Big South Christenberry Award Winner.  Prior to is arrival at Gardner-Webb, Harris spent four total years at Chowan, working for three as an assistant coach and one as the head coach. Harris first served as an assistant from 2020-21 to 2022-23, before then taking over the head coaching reigns for the 2023-24 season. Part of his first collegiate head coaching gig, Harris helped the Hawks improve from just one win to six during his lone season at the helm. The Hawks set several program-highs across Harris' four total years with the program, including a 100% graduation rate off the field to go along with a top ten defense nationally in caused turnovers per game, a top fifteen offense that ranked highly in total shots and shots per game, and saw a top 50 individual player in points per game while competing in Conference Carolinas. Harris also helped as a director of operations for the Hawks, overseeing film breakdown, recruiting, playbooks, inventory and budgeting, as well as practice planning and game setup. In addition, Harris also spent the same duration of time as Chowan's head cross country coach, taking the lead for two university programs. Prior to his stint at Chowan, Harris had a successful four-year run as the head women's lacrosse coach at Northside High School in Jacksonville, N.C. Over his tenure, Northside saw 13 all-league players and Harris was named conference coach of the year in 2018 and 2019. Harris also spent one season leading the school's men's lacrosse program as well. A native of Jacksonville, N.C., Harris is one of 13 siblings. He previously graduated from Elizabeth City State University with a BS in Physical Education and Health where he also played college football.

Krick was named head coach at Gardner-Webb on June 19, 2015, continuing the process of building a new program after serving as an assistant coach during the program's inaugural season. Jillian was impressive during the interview process, said Vice President for Athletics Chuck Burch. Her familiarity with the program, our university and its commitment to Christian higher education will be advantageous as she continues to build a lacrosse tradition here. I am confident what she lacks in experience will be compensated for by her enthusiasm, willingness to learn and high level of energy. Krick joined the Gardner-Webb coaching staff after her playing career at Liberty University. She played in 57 games for the Flames and made 47 starts.  Kricks leadership ability was on display as a student-athlete, as she was named a team captain during her senior season. She was also active in the community during her time in Lynchburg, Va., helping coach the JAB Lacrosse club for girls age 13-18  as well as helping mentor children in area elementary schools. I am honored with the opportunity to serve as head coach of this program as we look to continue moving toward our goal of competing for Big South Conference championships, said Krick. It is an exciting challenge that I look forward to attacking with the young women in our program now and in the future. Krick, a native of Harrisburg, Pa., earned a degree in family and child development (psychology minor) from Liberty University in May, 2013. She graduated with a Masters degree in human services/criminal justice from Liberty in 2014.

Rumbaugh begins her first year at Gardner-Webb following a successful playing career at Longwood University.  While with the Lancers, Rumbaugh was named a captain and speaking captain during her senior campaign. She also netted the most goals for Longwood in 2025 while being named Freshman of the Week in her rookie season in Farmville. Rumbaugh also excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-District during her junior and senior years.  In a professional role, Rumbaugh has coached across several venues, inlcuding the Nike Lacrosse Camp in Cape Cod, Massachusetts as well as the Lenoir-Rhyne lacrosse and clinics from 2021-24. Rumbaugh also coached in the Rumbaugh Lacrosse Academy where she helped to instruct players on focusing on skill development and goal setting while creating and organizing practice plans to improve player fundamentals, focus, and energy levels. Rumbaugh graduated from Longwood University with a Bachleor of Science in Business Administration and Management in 2024 as well as a Master of Business Administration and Economics in 2025.
