Culleys tenure, a fourth-place finish at the 2014 NCAA Cross Country Championships and a ninth-place showing at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The 2015-16 season proved to be a standout among a tradition of success as the GU women won the distance medley relay (DMR) at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, the first NCAA event title for the program since 2012. Later in the year, the women won the Penn Relays DMR title, becoming just the fourth team in history to complete the DMR double in the same calendar year. The Blue & Gray also won the Penn Relays 4x800-meter relay, taking home two Championship of America wheels for just the second time in program history. For her efforts, Culley was named the 2016 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Assistant Coach of the Year. Under Culleys guidance, Katrina Coogan finished her career on the Hilltop as an 11-time All-American, a two-time College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American and became the BIG EAST Conferences nomination for the 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year. Culley returned to coaching after an eight-year stint focusing primarily on her professional running career. In addition to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, Culley represented the United States as she was part of Team USA at the 2008 IAAF Indoor World Championships (3,000m), at the 2009 IAAF Outdoor Track & Field (5,000m) and again at the 2009 IAAF Cross Country World Championships (8,000m). She also founded and served as race director of the Run O the Mill 5K in Clinton, N.J. Prior to her arrival on the Hilltop, Culleys most recent coaching stop was at nearby American University from 2007-10, where she served as an assistant cross country and track & field coach, assisting Head Coach Matt Centrowitz with program operations, travel, recruiting and daily practices. Additionally, she was coached by Centrowitz during that time period. Centrowitz is a two-time Olympian, four-time United States champion, former American record holder and father of 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games 1,500-meter gold medalist, Matthew Centrowitz. Prior to American, Culley spent three years as the head womens track & field coach and the assistant cross country coach at Loyola University in Baltimore, Md. She directed all activities of the NCAA Division I track & field program, including recruiting, travel planning, facility coordination and training plans for all track and cross country athletes. While at Loyola, Culley also worked in the compliance office, assisting the director to ensure teams abided by NCAA rules and regulations. Culley was a track & field and cross country athlete at Rutgers University, earning All-America honors in cross country in 2002. A three-time MVP of the cross country team and a two-time MVP of the track & field team, Culley was awarded the Headley Singer Award, given annually to one outstanding female RU student-athlete. She was named the NJAIAW Woman of the Year in 2003 and was the recipient of the 2003 David A. Sonny Werblin Award, given to a national level accomplished RU athlete. She was the NCAA Woman of the Year for the State of New Jersey in 2003 and three times earned all-academic honors.
