Darcy Donaldson

Head Coach

Donaldson enters his fifth season as the Head Golf Coach at GSW. Donaldson became the Head Golf Coach at Georgia Southwestern in September 2012. In his four years at GSW, Donaldson has coached the Hurricanes to three team win, four second place team finishes, four NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championship appearances and has had one individual qualify for the National Championship. Under Donaldson's leadership the GSW golf team has had three All-American's, two players selected to the All-South/Southeast Region Team, four players selected to the Peach Belt Conference 1st Team All-Conference, four players selected PBC 2nd Team All-Conference, six  players named PBC Player of the week, three players selected for All-American Scholar's and has had two All-American Team Awards. In Donaldson's first year at the helm of the GSW golf program the 2012-13 team were ranked as high as 12th in the nation and they also broke the low team 18 hole score which is now 278 (-6). During the 2014-15 season the team broke three program records including; low team 36 hole score (571, +3), low team season scoring average (294.70) and low individual 54 hole score (209, -7). The Hurricanes were also ranked as high as 13th in the nation and finished 9th at Regionals. Donaldson came to GSW after four seasons as the assistant mens and womens golf coach at NCAA Division II Concord University in Athens, W. Va. While at Concord he was instrumental in building the mens golf program into a regional power as both a player and coach. In four seasons at Concord, Donaldson helped the mens golf program to 4 straight NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament appearances and a NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Region Championship. He coached 4 WVIAC Conference Individual Champions, 10 1st Team All-Conference selections, 4 Academic All-Americans and 1 All-American. He also helped coach the womens program to 7 1st Team All-Conference selections and 2 individual selections to the NCAA Division II Regional Championship.  "I am extremely excited for the opportunity to be the head men's golf coach at Georgia Southwestern," said Donaldson. "I'm looking forward to maintaining and building on the strong tradition of Hurricane men's golf." Originally from Marathon, Ontario Canada, Donaldson was one of the most decorated players in Concord's history.  During his playing career with the Mountain Lions, Donaldson helped Concord win back-to-back WVIAC championships in 2004 & 2005, NCAA Division II National Championship appearance in 2006 and was named an All-American in 2006. Individually, Donaldson was named the WVIAC freshmen of the year in 2004, the player of the year in 2006 and was a three-time WVIAC 1st Team All-Conference selection. Donaldson picked up 9 tournament wins as a player including 5 his junior year. Donaldson earned a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Physical Education-Health Promotions-Geography).
