Jillian Hancock

Assistant Coach

Hancock enters her third season as an assistant men's and women's swimming coach at Gettysburg College in 2016-17. Hancock has guided the mens program to a pair of Centennial Conference championships. In her first year with the Bullets, she helped the men's team to an undefeated season (9-0), the Centennial Conference title, and a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championship. All five swimmers who traveled to nationals earned All-America status, collecting a total of six top-16 finishes. This past season, the mens team claimed its sixth consecutive conference title and sent one swimmer to the national meet. Total, Hancock has coached the Bullets to nine All-America certificates over the last two seasons, including six first-team citations. Gettysburg has also claimed 15 conference relay and individual titles during that time period. The womens program has gone 16-3 in dual competition and finished among the top three in each of Hancocks season on the coaching staff. This past season, the Bullets claimed the runner-up position at the conference meet. After setting five school records in 2014-15, Gettysburg logged two program marks last winter. Hancock came to Gettysburg from Centennial Conference rival Washington College, where she has spent the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons as a graduate assistant swim coach and recruiting coordinator. She helped eight swimmers earn a combined 13 All-Centennial Conference honors, and three Shoremen or Shorewomen captured Centennial Conference titles, including one swimmer who was named the conferences Mens Rookie Outstanding Performer in 2013-14.   Prior to her time at Washington, Hancock served as the second assistant coach at Division I Bucknell University during the 2011-12 school year.   Hancock has also gained experience as a swim lessons instructor at Susquehanna University and as a coach and counselor at swimming camps held at Franklin & Marshall College and Washington College. In addition, she has held the post of associate swim coach for the Chester River Aquatic Blues (CRABs) Masters Swim Team.   An outstanding student-athlete as well, Hancock earned NCAA Division III All-America and Scholar All-America honors at perennial New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) powerhouse Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., where she held school records in the 200-freestyle, 500-freestyle, 400-freestyle relay, and 800-freestyle relay. She also helped the Ephs win their eighth, ninth, 10th, and 11th consecutive NESCAC Championships.   A native of Danville, Pa., Hancock graduated from Williams in 2011 with a bachelors degree in biology and from Washington College in 2014 with a masters in psychology.
