Brian Rowan
Head Coach
Rowan is currently the Executive Director for Athletics at RCGC as well as the head mens tennis coach. Rowan joined the RCGC staff full-time in the fall of 2008 taking the position of Assistant Director of Athletics after serving as the head mens tennis coach since 2005. In 2010, Rowan led the men's tennis team to its first NJCAA Division III National Championship. This is the first intercollegiate national championship in men's tennis for any college or university from the state of New Jersey. In 2011, the team won its second NJCAA NJCAA Division III National Championship and went on to also win in 2012 and 2013. Under coach Rowan's leadership, the men's tennis program has produced 26 NJCAA All-Americans and thirteen individual NJCAA National Champions. He was named the NJCAA Max Grubbs National Tennis Coach of the Year for his efforts in 2010 and again in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Rowan is a seven-time recipient of the NJCAA Region XIX Coach of the Year Award (2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015). His teams have won sevenNJCAA Region XIX championships and eight Garden State Athletic Conference championships and have finished in the top four in the NJCAA National Tournament on eight occasions. Rowan currently serves as the President of the NJCAA Men's Tennis Coaches Association. Prior to joining the RCGC full-time staff he spent four seasons as the mens tennis coach while teaching history and coaching the boys varsity basketball team at Triton Regional High School in Runnemede, NJ. Rowan also enjoyed stints as the boys varsity tennis coach and assistant football coach while at Triton RHS. Rowan earned his associates degree from Gloucester County College in the spring of 1997 where he was a member of both the mens basketball and mens tennis teams. He continued his basketball career at Rutgers University-Camden where he earned a B.A. in History. In 2005, Rowan earned his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. Rowan is a native of southern New Jersey. He graduated from Gateway Regional High School in 1994 and currently resides in Blackwood, NJ with his wife and two daughters Hailey and Hannah. In his spare time, Rowan is an advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) helping to raise money for a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
