Gordon College Men's Swimming

Milne assumed the helm for Gordon Swimming in 2007, taking over a program that has produced one All-American and several All-New England swimmers in its history.  Milne, a 1972 graduate of Springfield College with a degree in HPER (Health, Phys. Ed., and Recreation), has been involved in coaching for the past 35 years. He served as Gordon's head men's lacrosse coach from 1992- 2003 and has also coached the men's tennis squad at Gordon. Milne also has coaching experience in football, basketball, and baseball at various levels, and holds a Level II Swim Coaching certification. In addition to his coaching duties, Milne is the Director of Aquatics for the College. Skip currently resides in Gloucester, Mass. with his wife Debby. ASCA Level 4 Coach CSCAA member In her second season as the Head Coach of the Gordon Swim Team, Coach Jen is excited to build on the breakout success of the 2024-2025 season, where she and husband/co-coach Pete led the team to 11 program records, and a team 3rd and 5th place finish at the Metropolitan Championships for the women and men, respectively. Jen was a 4-year athlete and captain on the swim team, specializing in sprint freestyle and butterfly, coming from years of club swimming and diving in central Massachusetts, and continuing after college with sprint triathlons, marathons, and a half-Iron Man. She graduated from Gordon College in 2006 with a degree in Kinesiology, receiving her Masters in Occupational Therapy from Worcester State College, spending a decade in a variety of healthcare settings (acute, long-term, home care) working with patients on strength/skill recovery. The past decade has been filled with building several entrepreneurial ventures, including a custom camper remodeling business and an online women's clothing shop on the leading edge of social retail, as well as homeschooling she and Pete's three girls. As alumni of the program and college, Jen and Pete desire to invest in each student-athlete, providing a holistic approach to coaching, focusing on building a family culture, excellence in and out of the pool, and humility in team conduct.

Groff has been an assistant coach to Gordon Swimming since 2008. An alumna of Gordon, Groff graduated in 2006 with a degree in biblical studies and concentration in biblical languages after four years of participation in the swim program. Following graduation, she went on to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where she obtained a degree in biblical languages in 2009. As an assistant to Head Coach Skip Milne, Groff assists in all aspects of Gordon Swimming operations, specializing in the Fighting Scots' dry land training program. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, she also works alongside Dr. Marvin Wilson in Gordon's Hebrew Language Department. Laurie, husband Ryan, and sons Micah and Simon reside in nearby Beverly, Mass. Laurie Groff Assistant Swimming Coach Laurie Groff has been an assistant coach to Gordon Swimming since 2008. Peter has been deeply involved in the Gordon College community for the majority of his professional career, currently as the Director of Alumni Engagement and Sustainable Giving, which has included extensive work with Athletics teams on fundraising initiatives. A four-year member of the swim team and captain, Peter continued his swimming career after Gordon with triathlons and open water races, including the Misery Challenge in Manchester, MA. He and wife Jen live in Essex, MA, with their three girls, and are active members of First Presbyterian Church Northshore (Ipswich).
