Goucher College Women's Field Hockey

Sacco enters her second season with the Goucher field hockey staff as a graduate assistant. She joined Megan William's staff in 2015 and is a 2014 graduate of Misericordia University, where she played both field hockey and lacrosse. She was a four-year starter for both teams, helping the Cougars reach the Freedom Conference Championships in her senior season for both sports. At Misericordia, she played in 68 career field hockey games, anchoring the Cougars' defense; starting every game in her final three seasons. She also led the defense in lacrosse, racking up 102 ground balls while causing 43 turnovers throughout her career. Sacco comes to Goucher, following one season as an assistant field hockey coach at Albright College and as an assistant lacrosse coach at her high school alma mater, Governor Mifflin, where she led the Mustangs to the Berks County Championships and the District tournament. She has also worked numerous camps for both sports, as well as assisting with her former club field hockey team. This past summer, Sacco worked at the National Training Center as the US National Field Hockey Team prepared for their trip to Rio. She earned a bachelor's degree in history and secondary education at Misericordia and is pursuing her master's of education with a specialization in athletic program leadership and administration at Goucher.

Williams enters her fourth season as the head field hockey coach at Goucher College in 2015. During her tenure, Lizzie Barminski, who is now a junior, became the first Gopher to earn Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year recognition. Williams also coached two NFHCA Scholars of Distinction, while the team as a whole received the NFHCA's Team Academic Award. In the spring, she was one of two Goucher coaches to serve as a speaker at the first annual Landmark Women's Coaching Symposium. Williams is a 2006 graduate of Bryn Mawr College who had served two seasons as the assistant field hockey coach at Virginia Wesleyan College before joining Goucher's coaching staff. She was fully integrated into all of the coaching and administrative aspects of the field hockey program at Virginia Wesleyan, including the recruitment of student-athletes. Before that she was the head field hockey coach at Calvert High School in Prince Frederick, Md. In her four seasons at Calvert High School, her teams went 36-14-1 and she was recognized in 2009 as the Calvert Country Coach of the Year, the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and the Washington Post All-Extra Coach of the Year. Williams, who earned a masters degree in sport and recreation science from Ohio University in 2010, was a four-time letterwinner on the field hockey team at Bryn Mawr. She was recognized as the team's Rookie of the Year in 2002 and continues to rank among field hockey programs all-time leaders in assists, defensive saves, games played and games started. In June 2007 Williams founded and remains active as a head coach today in Gold Standard Performance, a series of camps for both high school and younger athletes in southern Maryland. She also served as head coach of the Southern Maryland Explosion Field Hockey Club from 2006-10 and has been chosen to be a head coach with the USA Field Hockey Olympic Development Program in 2012.
