Paul Osborne
Head Coach
Osborne, Head Mens Soccer Coach Paul Osborne has been a part of Grace University mens soccer program since 2002, and begins his second season as head coach in 2016. Grace posted a 6-12 record in 2015, with two victories against NAIA competition and three victories over NCCAA Division II schools, including long-time rival Manhattan Christian. As a player, Osborne started every match during his freshman season in 2002 under Coach Cory Wehrbein and helped Grace win its first-ever NCCAA regional championship and reach its first NCCAA national tournament. He played his last three seasons under coach Jon McNeel (2007-09), and then served as assistant coach for six seasons, one under former head coach Brent Douglas, and five seasons under McNeel, who resigned following the 2014 season. Osborne says that the most rewarding aspects of his coaching come from the opportunities to disciple college-age men. Paul is an Omaha native who attended Omaha Christian Academy from kindergarten through high school. He has been involved with the game of soccer since his earliest memories. In high school he was a four-year soccer letter-winner at Omaha Christian Academy and also played for the West Omaha Gladiators club team. In college, Paul served as team captain and during his senior year (2009) received NCCAA All-Region recognition as a goalkeeper, the only season he played in goal for the Royals. He is tied for 12th with 11 career goals, ranks sixth with 9 career assists and 11th with 31 career points in his first three seasons and totaled 117 saves, 3 shutouts and a 3.21 goals-against average in 15 matches in 2009. Paul graduated from Grace University with a Bachelor Degree in middle school education. In 2011, Paul married Grace alumna Sarah Osborne, who currently teaches mathematics at Millard North Middle School in Omaha.
