Lauren Giesecke
Head Coach
Giesecke was named Grand Canyon's women's golf coach on July 28, 2015. Giesecke came to GCU from South Florida where she had been an assistant coach under Marci Kornegay since 2013. While at USF, Giesecke helped the program to a national ranking and coached USF standout Ashley Burke to all-conference status as well as a berth in the NCAA Regional. "We continue to build a team of superstars and we are excited that Lauren has decided to join us at GCU," GCU Vice President of Athletics Mike Vaught said. "Lauren brings professional expertise, integrity and a championship plan for our golf program. With the addition of the new Grand Canyon University Golf Course that opens this fall, we feel our women's golf program will grow into a national power." Giesecke is a 2011 graduate of Indiana with a degree in exercise science and minor in coaching. She was a four-year member of the Hoosiers' golf team. "I am excited to join the Grand Canyon University family," Giesecke said. "My goal is to build a quality, competitive program that supports the academic, personal and athletic development of our student athletes. I was impressed with everyone I met at Grand Canyon from President Brian Mueller to the student-athletes. It is a campus on the move and I am honored to be a part of this exciting growth." Prior to arriving at USF, Giesecke worked as the Junior Golf Manager for PGA of America, Georgia Section, helping organize and run junior golf tournaments in the state of Georgia. She also spent time with both the American Junior Golf Association and the International Junior Golf Tour. Giesecke is from Kokomo, Ind., and prepped at Northwestern High School, captaining an all-conference and top 10 state tournament team.

Kelli Bowers
Assistant Coach
Bowers joined the Grand Canyon women's golf team as an assistant coach in October of 2015. Bowers joined the Lopes' staff after playing professionally on the Symetra Tour, which included a pair of top-20 finishes in 2015. Her highest professional finish was seventh place at the Guardian Retirement Championship. Before ending her amateur status, Bowers recorded quite a resume, including qualifying for the 2013 U.S. Women's Open and the Women's Amateur Public Links championship. At Washington, she was the top-placing Husky in five events during her career, including earning the team's top score at the NCAA Championship as a freshman in 2011. That season, which was the first of three NCAA postseason appearances, Bowers placed 26th as an individual at the NCAA Championship. A native of Chelan, Wash., Bowers joined the Huskies after earning four consecutive Washington state titles as a high schooler. That streak came alongside 12 Washington Junior Golf Association wins between 2002 and 2009.
