Monner has coached 165 individual conference champions and 32 conference championship relay teams.  At the NAIA national level he and his staff have produced 52 All-Americans, 21 national qualifying relay teams, seven individual national runners-up, and four NAIA National Champions. Along with his cross country and track & field coaching duties Monner is the current Heart of America Athletic Conference track & field chair and is a member of the NAIA-Track & Field Coaches Association Executive Committee where he is currently serving as the association President.  He previously served as a member of the NAIA indoor games committee, chair of the NAIA standards committee and has also served as the chair for the NAIA events committee. Prior to arriving at Grand View, Monner was the head cross country and track & field coach at the University of Minnesota-Morris.  He also has been on staff as an assistant track & field coach at Loras College and Iowa Wesleyan College. A native of Andrew, Iowa, Monner holds a bachelors degree in sport management and physical education and has a masters degree in athletic administration. He and his wife Debra reside in Des Moines. Entering his 11 year at Grand View and his first as Associate Head Coach for mens and womens track and field, throws coach Seth Roberson has developed Grand View into a premier location for throwers in the Midwest.  He takes great pride in developing throwers into conference champions and All-Americans as well as guiding them towards success outside of the throws venue.   The success of the Grand View Throws Crew under Roberson speaks for itself: During the 2015 season, Grand View throwers enjoyed one of the best seasons in all of the NAIA and dominated the conference scene.  All totaled, the 15 GV Throws Crew earned nine NAIA ALL-AMERICAN awards including two National Runners-Up, qualified for the national meet 17 times, and set 4 conference meet records.  Individually standout thrower Val Veiock was an All American in five events, finished her career as a nine time All-American, and was awarded Conference athlete of the year honors indoor and outdoor.  Senior Jena Krebs was All American in two events including a runner up finish in the weight throw while sophomore Nate Johnston (weight throw) all earned NAIA National Runner Up honors and sophomore Taylor Wells earned All American honors in the Discus.   Robersons personal resume is impressive as well.  He holds degrees in physics and secondary education from Wartburg College where he competed in multiple throws events, was a four time Academic All-Conference athlete, a team captain for the track and field and football teams, and a two time Academic All-American.  He is a member of the National Throws Coaches Association, a USA Track and Field Level 1 Certified Coach, a current member of the NAIA Track & Field Standards Committee, and a former Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Each winter Coach Roberson also conducts the Viking Throws Clinic held on the campus of Grand View University. Over the past 10 years the clinic has seen participants from all over the Midwest and has helped produce over a dozen state champions. Coach Roberson came to Grand View from Wartburg College where he served as the assistant throws and strength and conditioning coach for the track and field programs. He helped lead Wartburg to three conference titles and the 2005 NCAA Women's National Championship. While with Wartburg he worked with six all-conference, two conference champion, a school record, and two national qualifying throwers. Roberson, his wife Amanda, and sons Levi and Corbin reside in Polk City. Assistant coach Miradieu Joseph begins his seventh season as a member of the coaching staff.  He is responsible for coaching the Viking hurdlers. During his first six seasons at Grand View Joseph has coached twelve NAIA national qualifiers in the hurdles and his athletes have set all eight school records in the hurdle events. Coach Joseph is a 2001 graduate of Wartburg College where he was a seven-time All-American in track and field and helped lead the Knights to three IIAC Conference Championships.  During his senior year of competition he was crowned the NCAA Division III National Champion in the 400m hurdles and anchored the 4x400m relay team to an eighth place finish at the national championships.  Miradieu still holds five individual school records at Wartburg and is a member of three school record relay teams.  In the Fall of 2013 he was inducted into the Wartburg College Athletic Hall of Fame.  Assistant coach Steven Hughes begins his sixth season as a member of Grand Views track and field coaching staff.  Hughes is responsible for coaching the mens and womens sprints and relays.   Last season the Viking men had 26 sprinters/relays place in the top eight at the indoor and outdoor championships combined and finished second as a team at outdoor conference.  The womens team had 20 sprinters/relays place in the top eight at both the indoor and outdoor championships combined and placed second in the team races.   In his four full seasons as sprints coach, Hughes has coached 26 conference champions (individuals and relays). On the national level, he has had the opportunity to help coach nine relay and nineteen individual national qualifiers. The Grand View mens 4x400m squad has qualified for indoor nationals the last four years and the women's squad the last two.  The women's 4x800 team also qualified for nationals both indoor and outdoor in 2015.  He looks to keep this tradition alive in 2016.   Coach Hughes is an alum of Grand View graduating in 2010 with a degree in Biochemistry.  He was a team captain, strength and conditioning All-American, four time Academic All-Conference athlete, six time MCC conference champion, five-time NAIA national qualifier, and a NAIA All-American in the heptathlon during his senior season of competition for the Vikings, placing 5 at the NAIA Indoor National Championships.   Hughes currently holds school records in the heptathlon, high jump and 55m hurdles.    Steven, his wife Jordyn, and their daughters Lylah and Regyn reside in Des Moines. Graduate assistant coach Val Veiock is in her first season as a member of the Grand View track & field coaching staff.  She oversees daily operations, home meet management, recruiting, and assists with coaching the Viking throws crew.   Coach Veiock is a 2015 Grand View track & field alum where she was a sixteen-time NAIA national qualifier and nine-time NAIA All-American highlighted by her 2014 national runner-up finish indoors in the shot put.  Throughout her career she was a 10x MCC Conference Champion in the throws and was honored five times as the MCC Field Athlete of the Year for her accomplishments.  She is the current indoor and outdoor school record holder in the shot put and also holds the school record in the hammer. Veiock is currently pursuing her Masters in Business Leadership at Grand View University.
