Emma Frost
Head Coach
Emma Frost has been named Head Softball Coach at Gustavus Adolphus College, Athletic Director Tom Brown announced Tuesday, July 1. Frost becomes the ninth head coach in program history, replacing Coley Ries Welter. Frost arrives at Gustavus after three seasons as an assistant coach at St. Catherine University. In her time at St. Catherine, the softball team went 52-67 and made the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoffs twice, in 2023 and 2025. While working with the Wildcats, Frost helped with the offensive part of the program, building one of the top offenses in the MIAC. The Wildcats led the MIAC in doubles and times hit by pitch, while finishing in the top half of the conference in 10 of 17 offensive statistics. Frost, a social work major, graduated from Minnesota-Duluth in 2022, where she was a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All-Conference Team member in 2022 and a team captain. Outside of collegiate softball, Frost has coached at Minnesota Starters and Minnesota Renegades the past five seasons, working to develop players of all ages and help recruitable players have the opportunity to play at all NCAA levels. In 2023, she was a recipient of the NFCA Mary Nutter Scholarship, which provides coaches at all levels access to the best minds in the sport to become better coaches themselves.

Luke Weyandt is in his 12th season as a coach with the Gustavus men's and women's swimming & diving teams and his third with the Gustavus women's tennis team. Last season, Weyandt helped the swimming & diving teams to a MIAC championship sweep, winning both conference titles for the first time since 2008. Meanwhile, the women's tennis team went 16-11, taking second in the conference with a MIAC record of 9-1. The team advanced to the MIAC playoff championship, where they fell to Carleton 1-5 in the title match. As an assistant coach, Weyandt's primary responsibilities include running strength and dry-land and serving as the recruiting coordinator for all three programs. He has also served as an instructor in the Health & Exercise Science Department, and helped with athletic events management on campus. Weyandt also coaches with the Mankato Mantas Swim Club with fellow swimming & diving assistant Alex Lindstrom. Prior to his time at Gustavus, Weyandt held a number of different coaching jobs. Following his graduation from Gustavus in 2007, he served as a head and assistant coach for different MSHSL Swim & Dive Programs. He has been the head high school swim coach for Shakopee (head), East Ridge (head), Saint Peter (assistant), and Chisago (head) as well as the assistant track & field coach (throws) for Roseville and Eden Prairie high schools. Weyandt briefly served as the head swimming & diving coach at Hamline University from 2019-21 before returning to Jon Carlson's program in the spring of 2021. While the head coach of the Pipers, Weyandt helped the women's team to a eighth place finish at the MIAC championship meet in 2020, while the men took sixth. Both teams picked up a number of dual meet victories with Weyandt at the helm. Weyandt enjoys helping out with the track & field program at Gustavus and officiating at home track meets. As a track athlete for the Gusties, Weyandt was a thrower, competing in javelin, discus, and shot put. He was an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection in the discus and javelin at the MIAC Outdoor Championship in his senior year Luke has a his bachelor's degree from Gustavus ('07) and a master's in sports management from Concordia University-St. Paul in 2016. Weyandt resides in Saint Peter.

Alex Lindstrom is in his 16th season as the lead assistant for the men's and women's swimming & diving program in the 2024-25 academic year. Lindstrom joined the Gustavus staff alongside head coach Jon Carlson in 2009. Since joining the staff, the Gusties have amassed 12 MIAC titles. The Gustie men have won the last five while the women have claimed seven since Lindstrom joined the staff, including the 2024 title last season. Lindstrom, a Scandia, Minn. native and 1999 graduate of Gustavus, came to Saint Peter in 2009 from Monticello, Minn. where he served as the head coach of the Monticello Swim Club from 1999 to 2008. While in Monticello, he also served as the assistant head coach for the Monticello High School girls' swimming & diving team from 2002 to 2007. Prior to coaching in Monticello, Lindstrom was the head coach for the Princeton, Minn. high school boys' swimming & diving team in 2000 and 2001. In addition to coaching at Gustavus, Lindstrom also serves as the head coach of the Mantas Swim Club in Mankato. Alex lives in Saint Peter with his wife Deena, and their son, Macord, and daughter, Ruby.

Ingrid Iverson is in her second year as the content specialist for the Gustavus swimming & diving programs in the 2024-25 academic year. Iverson joined the Gustavus staff in 2023 and has since made the swimming & diving social media one of the most engaging of all NCAA Division III swim & dive. Iverson reached over 500,000 new users in the first three months of working with the team. She manages and creates digital content for social media platforms, recruiting communications, and fundraising events. Iverson also collaborates with campus engagement teams and athletics to support the College's marketing initiatives, and has spent time training coaches and student workers in social media management. Iverson owns her own digital marketing business - IngridI.com - where she specializes in social media management, content creation, brand photography, and consultation. Iverson is a 2020 graduate of Gustavus, and was a four-year member of the swimming & diving team while at Gustavus. She is still active in the Gustavus community and coaches with the Gustavus swim camp in the summer.
