Hamline University Men's Baseball

Jim Weyandt is in his 15th season as head baseball coach of Hamline University during the 2026-27 academic year, taking over the program before the 2013 season.   During this time, Weyandt has led the Pipers to four winning seasons and a playoff appearance, while his players have earned 16 MIAC All-Conference, seven MIAC All-Defensive, 66 MIAC All-Academic, and six ABCA All-Region honors. In addition, Weyandt had one player sign a professional contract following his college career as catcher Mark Radmacher signed with the St. Paul Saints after the 2013 season.   In 2016, the Pipers finished with a 28-15 record which was good for the second-most wins in program history and the program’s fifth appearance in the MIAC playoffs. The Pipers also tied the program record for consecutive winning seasons with four, and Weyandt was named the MIAC Coach of the Year.  Prior to taking over the program, Weyandt was an assistant coach for nine seasons. During that time, his duties included Infield Coach, First-Base Coach, and Director of Baseball Operations. In that span, Hamline won their first MIAC Tournament championship and earned its first trip to the NCAA tournament. Outside of Hamline, Weyandt has worked with former Major League Baseball players at Dan Gladden Baseball Camp as well as with Next Level Baseball Training.   As a player, Weyandt earned four varsity letters at Hamline while playing four different positions. Weyandt graduated from Hamline University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in social studies. He currently resides in Woodbury with his wife Nikki and sons J.R., Charlie, and Sam.
