Ryan Hawke
Head Coach
Hawke, who helped resurrect Wisconsin-River Falls swimming fortunes, will now try to do the same at Hamline. Hawke took charge of the Piper fortunes last year after spending the past three seasons at River Falls. During that time,Hawkes teams set a dozen school records and recorded more than 100 Top Ten performances during his tenure. In 2013-13, the WRF mens team finished fifth in the WIAC, their highest level in 25 years. Hawke was a four year swimmer at UWRF. He earned a place on the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll all four years there, captaining the team his senior year (2004-05). A nine time member of the Dean's List, Hawke majored in art education with a coaching minor at UWRF. In 2010, he earned his Masters in Education from the University of Minnesota. I am excited to come to Hamline and be part of its swimming and diving tradition (11 previous combined MIAC titles), Hawke said. I know the program has been growing in recent years. Im looking forward to working with this solid core group to continue to make forward strides. HU Athletic Director Jason Verdugo on Ryan Hawke: Ryan has the passion, experience and work ethic that's required to improve the competitiveness of our swim program. Were very pleased to have someone with his track record come in to guide the swimming program. I was impressed by his ability to improve his previous program albeit as a part-time coach.
