He was named the new head coach at H-SC on June 3, 2016, becoming just the fourth head coach in the storied program's history. Jason replaced his father, Ray Rostan, who retired at the end of the 2016 season after an incredible 32-year career with the Tigers. Jason is currently 118-55 at the College, including 64-22 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), ranking second in wins and first in winning percentage (.682). He also serves as a strength and conditioning coach for the athletic department. COACH ROSTAN HIGHLIGHTS IMLCA All-Region Coaching Staff of the Year - 2017 VaSID All-State Coach of the Year - 2017 ODAC Coach of the Year - 2017 NCAA Tournament Third Round - 2017. Earned just the third-ever NCAA Tournament win in team history ODAC Championships - 2017 School-record 16 wins - 2017 School-record 8 ODAC wins - 2018, 2021, 2023 Broke three individual single-season school records (points, goals, assists) and three team season records (points, goals, assists) in 2017 H-SC completed 2026 with a final overall record of 10-9, including 7-3 in the ODAC, the program's ninth overall season with at least 10 wins under Jason Rostan. The Tigers earned the No. 4 Seed in the ODAC Tournament, advancing to the semifinals. The Garnet & Grey won five of their final seven games, including a thrilling 12-11 overtime home win past Randolph-Macon in the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals. Will Palmer ’26, Cameron Van Lunen ’27 and Cole Palmer ’28 were each named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Honorable Mention All-Americans. Will Palmer and Davis Mack ’26 each participated in the 2026 USILA Division III All-Star Game. H-SC completed 2025 with a final record of 12-6 overall, including 7-3 in the ODAC, the program's fifth consecutive and eighth overall season with at least 12 wins under Jason Rostan. The Tigers earned the No. 4 Seed in the ODAC Tournament, falling the quarterfinals. Highlights included an five-game winning streak early and a four-game winning streak late, including an 18-7 home win past Randolph-Macon on Senior Day. H-SC completed 2024 with a final record of 12-6 overall, including 6-3 in the ODAC. The Tigers earned the No. 4 Seed in the ODAC Tournament, falling the quarterfinals. Highlights included a six-game winning streak that followed an early-season four-game winning streak. H-SC completed 2023 with a final record of 13-5 overall, including 8-1 in the ODAC. The Tigers earned the No. 2 Seed in the ODAC Tournament, reaching the semifinals. The top highlight of the season came in the four-overtime thrilling, 11-10, victory over nationally-ranked Washington and Lee University on March 29. That victory kicked helped kick off an eight-game win streak by the Tigers, with all games coming against ODAC member schools. As the No. 2 seed in the ODAC Tournament, the Tigers earned themselves a trip to the semifinals which brought a rematch with Washington and Lee, where they fell 16-4. H-SC completed 2022 with a final record of 13-7 overall, including 6-4 in the ODAC, while advancing to the ODAC Tournament Championship game for the first time since 2017. Highlights included a thrilling 13-12 win over Catholic (DC) at the Capital Classic Lacrosse Tournament on March 19 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. That victory helped propel the Tigers to win the next five out of six games, including four against ODAC members: Bridgewater (10-6), Ferrum (23-3), Randolph (19-1) and Virginia Wesleyan (24-7). H-SC defeated archrival Randolph-Macon (12-10) in the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals, and No. 1 seed Washington and Lee (8-7) in sudden-death overtime in the semifinals at W&L, before falling in the title game to Lynchburg (18-7). Rostan has led H-SC to three 13-win campaigns that equal the second-best seasons in the program's history. The Tigers have won eight ODAC games three times during a season (2018, 2021, 2023), the most conference wins in a season. In 2018, H-SC finished 13-5 overall, including 8-1 in the ODAC, while advancing to the ODAC Tournament semifinals. In 2019, the Tigers were 13-6 overall, including 7-3 in the ODAC, again advancing to the ODAC Tournament semifinals. H-SC finished 4-2 overall, including 1-0 in the ODAC, during 2020 that cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, the Tigers finished 12-3 overall, including 8-1 in the ODAC, while once-again advancing to the ODAC Tournament semifinals. His first year at the helm of Tiger Lacrosse in 2017 remains one of the best season's in program history to date. H-SC won its fifth ODAC Championship and third NCAA Tournament game, while setting a new record for wins in a season with 16, breaking the previous mark of 13. The team shattered the school record book on the offensive end, setting new records in points with 486 (previously 387), goals with 307 (previously 236), and assists with 179 (previously 177). Coach Rostan was named the Region, State and ODAC Coach of the Year. Rostan was a four-year standout student-athlete at H-SC, followed by 13 years as an assistant coach, including eight years as the offensive and recruiting coordinator. In 2007, Rostan was an assistant coach for the South in the USILA Division III North-South Game. In 2010 and 2014, Rostan was named a finalist for the Division III National Assistant Coach of the Year. As a junior in 2002, Rostan earned First-Team All-American honors and was the ODAC Player of the Year. During his senior season, he was named a Second-Team All-American and was selected to play in the North-South game. He was an All-ODAC selection three times, twice on the first team, a two-time team captain, and the 2002 recipient of the team's Howdy Meyers Award. His 2003 senior class graduated as the winningest class in program history after earning three NCAA tournament appearances and a 2001 ODAC Championship. In the summer of 2005, Rostan was one of 120 players invited to try out for Team USA, one of only a handful of Division III players to be invited. In 2007, Rostan was the Los Angeles Riptide's fifth round pick in the Major League Lacrosse supplemental draft. The following year, Rostan was the Denver Outlaw's fifth-round pick. Rostan was inducted into the Hampden-Sydney Athletic Hall of Fame in October of 2015. Rostan is a 2003 graduate of Hampden-Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. Jason and his wife, Amy, have a daughter, Carter, and a son, Cole and the family resides in Powhatan. Jared Krikorian
Assistant Coach
Jared Krikorian is in his fourth year as an assistant lacrosse coach at Hampden-Sydney College during 2026-27. He previously served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Mary Washington, from 2022-23. At Mary Washington, Krikorian oversaw the recruiting program for the Eagles and coached the offense and face-off unit. Krikorian increased both offensive and face-off statistics across the board. While with the Eagles, he coached a First-Team All-CLC Attackman, Second Team All-CLC Midfielder, and Second Team All-CLC Face-Off Specialist. Prior to Mary Washington, Krikorian spent time as a Volunteer Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Washington and Lee University. During his year with the program, he was the Defensive Assistant Coach along with being the Face-Off and Goalie Coach. Krikorian helped coach the defense to a #12 defensive national ranking in goals allowed per game, coached a Third-Team All-American goalie, and an Honorable-Mention All-American within the faceoff unit. He helped the team to a 12-7 record, including 10-0 in the ODAC, and an NCAA tournament bid. Before moving into the college ranks, Krikorian spent two years coaching at Daniel Hand High School in Madison, CT making it to two state championships. In his next role as head coach, Krikorian brought his alma mater, Hall High School, to a #10 state ranking and a trip to the state semifinals. A native of West Hartford, Connecticut, Jared is a 2015 graduate of Mary Washington where he earned Bachelor of Science degrees in both business management and psychology. He was a four-year member of the lacrosse program (2012-15) and helped lead the Eagles to the 2014 NCAA Tournament and their finest season in school history (14-4). After graduating from UMW, Krikorian spent a year in Australia coaching in the South Australian State League. Jared and his wife Ali were married on June 14, 2025.

Paul Amos '92
Assistant Coach
Paul Amos '92 is in his third year as the Regional Development Officer for Athletics at Hampden-Sydney College during 2026-27, and his sixth year as an assistant lacrosse coach. H-SC Lacrosse and Football, Class of 1992 Lacrosse: Was recruited by Coach Ray Rostan to play lacrosse after senior football season and played in all 14 games scoring one goal on one shot as a short stick defensive midfielder. Post-collegiate club, played three seasons as a defenseman for the Virginia Beach Sharks of the American Lacrosse League. Football: Four-year starter at RB, senior co-captain. Tied single game scoring record (at the time) with 24 points vs Davidson, was a member of an offense that set the school record for points/game At H-SC, Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy, two-year resident advisor, and member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity Post College Most recently, Paul just finished a seven-year stint as the Head Lacrosse Coach at Thomas Dale High School, where he was the first head coach after starting the program. Started the Chester Lacrosse club, which grew to become the program at Thomas Dale HS. In the first five years, led the program to 46 wins, a regular season conference championship and four appearances in the 6A regional playoffs. Produced numerous All-Conference and All-Region players, two All-State players, four All-Metro Richmond and six players at four ODAC schools. Was named Conference Coach of the Year, Region COY, and a US Lacrosse All-American high school coach. Was one of the leaders in bringing varsity lacrosse into the public schools in Chesterfield County and the Richmond area of Virginia. Prior to TD, Paul was an assistant football and basketball at Nansemond-Suffolk before moving back to Chesterfield and becoming the QB coach at 6A powerhouse Thomas Dale high school for three seasons. In those three years, coached high school quarterbacks who went on to successful careers at Virginia Tech, Hampton University (D1 FCS All-American K), and Chowan (D2 All-American WR). Served as the Vice President of the US Lacrosse Richmond chapter from 2015-2020 and was integral in the rebirth of the Richmond Area HS All-Star game. Instructor for 10 years at Tiger Lacrosse’s Performance Lacrosse Camps at H-SC, instructor for North Meets South Lacrosse and Trojan 40 lacrosse Paul resides in Farmville and has two sons, Carter and Griffin, both graduates of the College of William and Mary.

Cole Hogan
Assistant Coach
Cole Hogan is in his second year as an assistant lacrosse coach at Hampden-Sydney College during 2026-27. Hogan had previously served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Mary Washington, since 2023. During his two seasons with the Eagles, Hogan served as an Offensive Assistant, Man Down Coordinator, and Recruiting Coordinator. He developed personnel scouting reports for offense and defense, led offensive scouting report meetings, worked with attackmen and offensive midfielders, and managed the recruiting efforts of the program. Prior to Mary Washington, he served as an assistant coach at Ferrum College, which included a stint as the interim head coach. He served as an Offensive Assistant and then the Offensive Coordinator, served as Recruiting Coordinator, while assisting in strength and conditioning. Hogan spent two years as the head lacrosse coach at Stafford High School in Stafford, Virginia, prior to getting into the college coaching ranks. He also spent time as the head lacrosse coach for the FXBG Lacrosse Club in Fredericksburg. A native of Springfield, Hogan graduated from Mary Washington in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He was a four-year member of the men’s lacrosse team, starting in 37 games, and tallied 80 career points. During his senior campaign, Hogan was second on the team in goals with 36 and points with 52.
