Haverford College Athletics Podcast: Fords in Focus - Episode 1 (August 2, 2024) Jamie Schneck will enter her 19th season as the women's soccer coach at Haverford College in 2025. Schneck is just the fourth coach in the program’s 38 seasons. The Fords made an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2019 and have made the postseason 11 times during her career at the helm. In addition to receiving at at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2019, Schneck first led Haverford to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Centennial Conference Championship in 2012. She followed that up with an at-large bid in 2013 for the program’s first-ever back-to-back appearances on the national stage. Under Schneck’s leadership, the Fords have qualified for the Centennial Conference Tournament 12 times, most recently in 2024. That postseason success includes appearances during four of the last seven seasons. To date, Schneck has compiled a 166-94-47 record. She recorded her 100th career victory during the 2016 season with a 2-1 overtime win against DeSales on Walton Field. The Fords have won 10 or matches eight times over the past 11 seasons. In 2019, the Fords rewrote the record for most consecutive shutouts (7) and victories (8) in school history on their way to a 13-match unbeaten streak as they finished the season with a 12-5-2 record. Defense has always been a staple of Schneck’s teams as they have posted a combined 125 shutouts over her 16 years, including 10 or more in seven different years. Beginning her run of NCAA Tournament appearances, Schneck led the Fords to their first Centennial Conference Championship since 1995 with a 2-1 victory over 24th-ranked Johns Hopkins. During that 2012 season, the Fords broke set the school’s single-season record with 14 wins. Haverford went 10-4-6 overall just one year later, including an unbeaten 7-0-3 mark in Centennial Conference play as the Fords advanced to their second straight Centennial Conference Championship game as the No. 2 seed in the conference. Prior to joining Haverford, Schneck served as an assistant coach at Washington & Lee University. In 2006, Schneck helped lead the Generals to an NCAA Elite Eight appearance, a 19-1-3 overall record, and a season-ending ranking of 10th in Division III. A 2003 graduate of Muhlenberg College, Schneck was a four-year letterwinner for the Mules playing on the 2000 and 2001 Centennial Conference Championship teams. Schneck went on to receive her master of science in sport management from East Stroudsburg University, where she also served as the women's soccer graduate assistant. After receiving her master's degree, Schneck spent two seasons at Washington College as the assistant soccer coach and administrative assistant to the athletic department.

Aken 12 returned to the Haverford College womens soccer program as a volunteer assistant at the start of the 2014 season. During her playing career with the Fords, Van Aken was a first-team All-Centennial Conference selection during the 2009 and 2011 seasons, earning second-team All-Centennial Conference honors in 2010. Van Aken went on to earn second-team All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors during her senior campaign in 2011. She was also named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll during each of her final three seasons. Van Aken helped Haverford qualify for the Centennial Conference playoffs in each of her four seasons. She scored a career-high nine goals during her 2009 season, while recording a career-best 22 points (eight goals, six assists) during her senior campaign. Van Aken broke the school record for game-winning goals (15) prior to her graduation and now ranks second all-time in that category. Her 30 goals and 72 points ranks fifth and seventh, respectively, in Haverfords program history. Van Aken is currently attending Drexel University where she is a graduate researcher working towards her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Engineering.
