Hillsborough Community College Men's Baseball

Just finished 23rd year as a JUCO Head Coach.  My 3rd season at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa.  Won my 700th career game this past season.  Won 2019 NJCAA Division II National Championship at Northern Oklahoma College Enid.  

Second year with HCC will be moving from offense to pitching coach. Coached with IMG Academy in 2019, and is Vice President for the TBT Swarm travel ball organization. Played professionally for Pittsburgh Pirates for 3.5 years. Played collegiately at University of South Florida, State College of Florida, and Florida State University. 

Current hitting and infield coach at Hillsborough Community College. Past stops include hitting coach at Monroe College Bronx Campus for the 21'-22' seasons. Direcotr of Baseball Operations at Combine Academy for 2020 Season. Student Assistant at University of Tampa for 17'-20' seasons.

Bio Player Profile Game Log Split Stats Bio Daniel Perez began his 2nd stint at Hillsborough College in July of 2023, this time as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.   Perez started his coaching career in the fall of 2018 as a volunteer assistant coach at NCAA DII Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs, GA. After his first fall semester, he was hired as the pitching coach here at Hillsborough, and remained in that role until the spring of 2021. Perez was then hired as the pitching coach at NCAA DII Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina, and spent two seasons there before returning to Hillsborough.  In his first stint at Hillsborough, Perez saw the 2019 Hawks' pitching staff finish the year with a 4.12 team ERA (35th in NJCAA). In the shortened 2020 season, the Hawks' team ERA improved to a 4.08. Then, in Perez's final season with Hillsborough, the pitching staff averaged 9.32 K/9 on the year, while walking only 167 on the year (26th in NJCAA).  In his two seasons at Erskine, the team ERA dropped almost half a run. In the 2023 season, Perez saw the Erskine pitching staff finish 4th in the conference in least walks allowed, while finishing 5th in total strikeouts.  During his first 7 seasons in college baseball, Perez has coached one pitcher who got promoted to Major League Baseball, five other pitchers who moved on to play professionally, ten pitchers who have moved on to play at the NCAA DI level, and several others who have moved on to play at the NCAA DII and NAIA levels.   Perez earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from NCAA Division II Georgia Southwestern State University in 2016, where he was a relief pitcher for three years. He then went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Sport Psychology from Florida State University in 2018. Daniel currently resides in Land O' Lakes, FL.   Player statistics Recent results
