Head Coach

"Jacki Millet enters her 12th season as the head coach for the men's and women's tennis teams at Hinds Community College. A highly respected figure in the tennis community, Coach Millet previously served as the MACCC Tennis Chairman and currently holds the position of NJCAA Vice-President for Women's Tennis. During her tenure at Hinds, the men's team achieved a significant milestone by capturing both the MACCC Conference Championship and the Region XXIII Championship in 2019. Receiving the conference and regional Coach of the Year award. Coach Millet has a proven track record of developing successful players, with numerous athletes continuing their tennis careers at the next level and several pursuing careers in coaching. Prior to her time at Hinds, Coach Millet established and led the tennis program at University Christian School (now Hartfield Academy) for seven seasons (2005-2012). Her coaching prowess guided the Flames to impressive heights, culminating in a Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) south state and state championship in 2011. This outstanding achievement earned her the prestigious MAIS 1A Coach of the Year award. Under her guidance, UCS consistently excelled, claiming district championships annually from 2007-2011. The team reached the pinnacle of South State success in 2010 and secured a runner-up finish in 2009. Beyond tennis, Coach Millet contributed to the school's athletic success, playing a key role as head swim team coach in the 2007 and 2008 Mississippi Private School Association (MPSA) state championships in swimming. Coach Millet's impact extends beyond the collegiate and high school levels. She spearheaded the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Quick Start tennis program at UCS, introducing the sport to young athletes in grades 1-6. Her dedication to developing young talent resulted in two of her players earning prestigious spots on the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) All-State and All-Star tournament teams. Before joining Hinds, Coach Millet also shared her expertise at Northwest Rankin High School. A graduate of Pearl High School, she holds certifications from the USTA and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Coach Millet is married to Mark, and they are blessed with two sons, Scott and Kevin, two amazing daughters-in-law, and a granddaughter. She attended the University of Southern Mississippi and previously pursued a career as a graphic artist and photographer."

Reginald Dillon

Head Coach

Reginald Dillon is in his 21st season as the head coach for the highly regarded Hinds men’s and women's track & field programs in 2021.   His tenure at Hinds has seen a remarkable amount of success, including 21 individual national championships and three National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) records. He was also the 2008 NJCAA Coach of the Year.   Dillon is a native of Tylertown and is a graduate of Tylertown High School. He furthered his education here at Hinds Community College and Jackson State University.   After his time at JSU, Dillon returned to Hinds, serving as an assistant football coach from 1997-2004. Dillon has sent numerous athletes to four-year colleges around the nation during his tenure at Hinds.   Perhaps his best known athlete is Trell Kimmons of Coldwater, who won the 2006 NJCAA Indoor title when he ran the 60 meter dash in 6.53 seconds, and Kimmons also went on to win the 200 meter dash in 2006 at Kansas State University, finishing in 20.89 seconds. He has since signed with adidas and runs professionally. In 2010, he tutored Kimmons to his personal best of 9.95 in the 100m.  Kimmons also ran a wind-aided 9.92 in 2010.   Kimmons competed in the 2012 London Olympics as the lead man on the 4x100 meter relay team and earned a silver medal.   Dillon, who resides in Raymond, with wife Maranda and son Nicholas. He has also worked with Tyson Gay, the American record holder in the 100m dash (9.77), during the Summer of 2007.

Trajan (TJ) Johnson

Assistant Coach

Trajan Johnson is a native of Memphis. Graduated from Hinds Community College, the University of Southern Mississippi, and the University of South Dakota.  He served as an athletic trainer at Hinds Community College in 2017. He began his coaching career at the University of Southern Mississippi as a volunteer coach, working alongside Jon Stuart and Jamaal Barnes from 2020 to 2022. During this time, he contributed to back-to-back Conference USA Women's Indoor Championship titles in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons.1st place finish indoor High Jump Covrell Todd 2.22m (2022). Notably, Octavia Cato (11.51) qualified for the 100m, and the women's 4x1 relay team qualified for the NCAA Regional meet twice, finishing 18th in 2021 and 15th in 2022. The men's 4x4 relay finished 21st in 2021 and Elijah Miller (10.24) qualified for the 100m. In 2022, Trajan transitioned to the University of South Dakota as a graduate assistant coach, working with sprints under coach Tevaskie Lewin. His contribution helped the team secure both men's and women's titles at the 2023 Summit League Indoor Championship, highlighted by a 1st-place finish for Erin Kinney in the women's 60m (7.27) and 1st and 3rd-place finishes by Dylan Kautz (6.64) and Ardell Inlay (6.79) in the men's 60m. Jacy Pulse took 1st place in the women's 400m (54.48), and the men's team swept the 200m event. That same year, his athletes qualified for regionals in the women's 100m and the 4x100 relay. Now in his fourth year of coaching, Trajan has expanded his role to include managing both cross-country and track weight room responsibilities. In the 2024 season, he helped lead South Dakota to its second Summit League Indoor men's title. During the Summit League Outdoor Championships, both Jaden Guthmiller and Erin Kinney took 1st place in the 100m. Notable 1st place finishes were also achieved by Sara Reifenrath in the 200m and 400m. His athletes continued to excel, with NCAA Regional qualifiers including Jaden Guthmiller (10.31), Erin Kinney (11.22/23.26), Sara Reifenrath (52.55/23.30), the women's 4x4 relay (3:33.15), and the women's 4x1 relay (44.13).  He has achieved USTFCCCA Strength & Conditioning coaching certification and a total of 10 men and 23 women qualified for the NCAA Regional Meet.
