Chip Fishback
Assistant Coach
Fishback. The Heron squash team has grown from a first year varsity program into a top-20 power, while the Heron tennis team has not recorded a losing season in his 17 years as head coach. Fishback has a career record of 168-155 on the squash courts and a 204-105-0 mark on the tennis courts. William Smith squash won back-to-back Liberty League Championships in 2005 and 2006, captured consecutive Walker Cups in 2006 and 2007, and took home the Epps Cup in 2009 and 2013. Last season, the Herons logged a 14-6 overall record and finished second in the Epps Cup. In 2004-05, Fishbacks Herons turned in a 15-5 record, setting the single-season wins record, qualifying for the Kurtz Cupthe B Division of the Howe Cupand ending the campaign ranked 15th in the nation, the programs highest ranking. The 2005 Liberty League Squash Coach of the Year, Fishback has mentored 29 All-Liberty League selections, the 2004, 2005, and 2006 Liberty League Rookies of the Year, and 2007 Liberty League Player of the Year, Katie Hendricks '07. The William Smith tennis program has also flourished under Fishback's guidance. Last season the Herons posted a 9-9 overall record and in 2013-14, William Smith registered a 14-5 overall record and advanced to the Liberty League Tournament semifinals. In 2011-12, the Herons finished with a 15-4 record, notching the second-most wins in a season in program history. The Herons set a new program record for single season wins in 2010-11, posting 16 victories. The team tied the prorgram's previous record for wins in a season in 2001-02, 2002-03, and 2004-05, registering 14 victories. The 2001-02 squad also broke the program's season record for highest winning percentage (.824, 14-3). In the past 12 seasons, Fishback has mentored one ITA National Rookie of the Year, his charges have earned 30 All-Liberty League award, and 22 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team selections. In addition, Chelsea Rauck 09 was named the Liberty League Player and Rookie of the Year in 2006. Fishback came to William Smith after spending five years as an assistant coach at the University of North Carolina. Before turning to coaching full time, he taught history and mathematics at Brookings (S.D.) High School, while also coaching tennis, gymnastics, and football. Fishback is a 1984 graduate of Davidson College, where he played tennis, baseball, and football for the Wildcats. In 1992, he earned a masters degree in teaching from North Carolina.

Tim Riskie
Coach
Riskie to serve as the head coach of the tennis and squash teams. Riskie has guided the Statesmen tennis team to a 45-39 overall record in his time at Hobart and has notched a 41-56 overall squash record. Riskie's charges have earned 17 all-conference tennis awards and five all-conference squash awards. Last season, the Statesmen tennis team posted a 10-9 overall record. Hobart earned a spot in the Liberty League tournament but dropped its semifinal match to Skidmore. In 2013-14, the tennis Statesmen posted a 13-10 record. Last season the Hobart squash team notched 11 wins and closed out the season competing in the Summers Cup in the 2015 College Squash Association Team National Championship. In 2013-14, the Statesmen posted seven wins and advanced to the Conroy Cup championship match at the 2014 CSA Championships. Riskie joined the Hobart coaching staff following two seasons as an assistant mens and womens tennis coach at Allegheny College, where he assisted the head coach in all aspects of the program. He helped the Gator women improve from 5-16 in his first season to 13-9 in 2011-12. Riskie came to the Allegheny staff following a year as a tennis instructor at Ron Jaworskis Riverwinds Golf and Tennis Club in West Deptford, N.J. He also completed a marketing internship with the U.S. Tennis Association Middle States in 2009. Riskies professional career began as a graduate assistant mens and womens tennis coach at Drexel University in 2006. With the Dragons, he planned on-court practices and conditioning sessions as well as assisted in player development and recruiting. In 2008, Riskie earned a masters degree in public communication from Drexel. A former Division III student-athlete, Riskie was a four-year member of the tennis team at Washington (Md.) College. The 2004 ITA Scholar-Athlete helped the Shoremen to four straight NCAA tournament appearances, three Centennial Conference championships, and to a No. 15 national ranking in the final poll of the 2005-06 season. Riskie and his doubles partner ended the 2004-05 season ranked 20th in the nation, and a year later moved up to No. 11. A two-time all-conference selection for his doubles play, Riskie also garnered All-CC praise in singles in 2006. He played in every singles and doubles spot in the Washington lineup, excelling at No. 1 doubles where he registered a 23-7 (.767) record during his junior and senior seasons. Riskie served as a team captain during his senior year and shared Washingtons MVP award that season. He graduated with a bachelors degree in business management and computer science. A Professional Tennis Registry certified professional, Riskie is also an avid squash player.
