Ken Dougherty
Assistant Coach
Dougherty was promoted to head coach of Hobart golf prior to the start of the 2011-12 season after spending the previous year as an assistant with the Statesmen. In his first year as head coach, Dougherty guided Hobart to its first win since 2005, taking first place at the Keuka Invitational. The Statesmen also recorded a third place finish at the Utica Invitational, and finished the year taking second place in the Oswego Spring Invitational. In the 2013-14 season, Dougherty again led the Statesmen to victory, capturing the Oswego State Spring Invitational. His squad also brought home top three finishes at the Keuka Fall Invitational (3rd), Oswego State Fall Invitational (3rd), and the Keula Spring Invitational (3rd). On the course, Dillon Sass '14 became the most decorated golfer of the Dougherty-era. He earned PING All-Northeast Region honors and was tabbed a GCAA Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar as a senior. Off the course, Dougherty's Statesmen have earned eight Liberty League All-Academic awards and were recognized as a GCAA Team Academic Award winner in 2014-15. A former member of the Geneva and Seneca Lake country clubs, Dougherty is currently a member of Clifton Springs Country Club, the home course of the Hobart golf team. He boasts more than 50 years of playing experience and has won several flight titles in the Geneva City Golf Championship. Dougherty was also named to the Division III Men's Golf Regional Advisory Committee in 2015. Retired from NYSEG after a 36-year career, Dougherty lives in Geneva with his wife, Diane. They have three children, including Steven, who played golf for the Statesmen before graduating with a bachelor's degree in economics in May 2013. Ken Dougherty is also a member of the HWS Parents Association Parents Executive Committee. He has an associates degree in business administration from Finger Lakes Community College. Lynn Quinn
Assistant Coach
Quinn was hired to serve as the head coach of William Smith golf for the 2011-12 season. In her first year at the helm, Quinn guided the Herons to their first tournament victory as a varsity program, winning the William Smith Invitational by one stroke over Division II Le Moyne. The Herons showed marked improvement in their second season under Quinns leadership, lowering the teams scoring average by more than seven strokes. In the 2014-15 season, Quinn's William Smith team posted a season record scoring average, more than 30 strokes better than her first Heron team average. Quinn's student-athletes have excelled in the classroom as well, earning 16 Liberty League All-Academic awards over the past five seasons. An accomplished golfer, Quinn won the 2011 Finger Lakes Women's Association championship by 14 strokes thanks to rounds of 79 and 80. Quinn also captured the 2010 Women's Rochester District Golf Association senior championship and the 2009 New York Women's Senior Amateur Low Gross Flight A. A proven leader as well, Quinn has been a member of the board of directors at Clifton Springs Country Club, the Herons' home course, since 2001, serving as board president from 2005 through 2007. Since 2007, she has also led the Women's Finger Lakes Golf Association as president. A retired transition specialist for Monroe County BOCES, Quinn earned a bachelor's degree in special education from SUNY Geneseo and a master's degree in special education from Nazareth College.
