Warren Caruso '89, '08G, '18

Head Coach

Warren Caruso has served as the head coach for the Husson men's basketball program since 1994 and has led the Eagles to 16 conference championships and 16 NAIA/NCAA National Tournament appearances. Additionally, Caruso's teams have won 10 conference titles since 2009 and made 19 conference championships posting a 16-4 record in championship games. Additionally, Caruso has been named conference coach of the year seven times and Maine State coach of the year three times.  The winningest coach in North Atlantic Conference history, Caruso was inducted into the Husson Sports Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023. He has served 35 years as both a head and assistant coach for the Eagles and currently ranks top 10 in the nation in NCAA Division III wins and second in New England in wins by an active coach. Caruso was a four-year letter-winner and team captain with the basketball program. Caruso has recruited 23 of the 55 1,000-point scorers in program history and one 2,000-point scorer since taking over the helm of the Husson men’s basketball program. Additionally, Caruso has guided his teams to 15 20-win seasons, in­cluding three-in-a-row from 1996-97 to 1998-99, and five-in-a-row from 2012-13 to 2016-17 and has 29-winning campaigns during his tenure. A 1989 graduate from Husson, Caruso earned his bachelor of science public accounting and earned his master of science in business in 2003 and a master of science in human relations in 2018, both from Husson. Caruso has been a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches since 1990 and has served on the NABC National Congress since 2006. In 2008, Caruso served on the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Selection Committee for the ECAC New England Basketball Championship. Caruso is a past president of the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches Writers Association, an organization that serves college basketball in the State of Maine. In the past, he served on two national committees with the NAIA, Men’s Basketball Rating Committee and Men’s Basketball All-American Committee.  Born and raised in Bangor, Maine, Caruso enjoys being a part of the community where he grew up, went to school, works, and raised a family with his wife Nicole. They started dating in 1983 and married on Sept. 29, 1990. Kissy Walker '03G

Head Coach

Kissy Walker has served as the head coach of the Husson women's basketball program since 1989-90 and has led the Eagles to 12 conference championships and 12 NAIA/NCAA National Tournament appearances. Walker has been named conference coach of the year 11 times, Maine State coach of the year three times, NAIA District V coach of the year twice and New England Women's Basketball Association Coach of the Year once. The winningest coach in program history and the longest tenured head coach for a single sport in Husson University Athletics' history, Walker has been inducted into the Husson Sports Hall of Fame, Maine Basketball Hall of Fame and New England Basketball Hall of Fame.  Walker has spent over 30 years on the bench for the Husson as both an assistant and head coach racking up the second most wins in the North Atlantic conference since the 2003-04 season, while taking over a program that holds the most victories in NCAA Division III women's basketball history with over 1,100 wins.  Additionally, Walker became just the 31st NCAA DIII women's basketball coach to surpass 600 career victories in 2025 and has accumulated 10 20-win seasons in her career while recruiting 20 of the programs 23 1,000-point scorers. Prior to being named as the head coach of the women’s basketball program, Walker served as an assistant coach for the Eagles after spending two years teaching physical education and coaching girls basketball, softball and gymnastics at the Holbrook Middle School in Holden, Maine. A 1986 graduate of the University of Maine Orono, Walker earned a bachelor of science in health and physical education and a masters degree in business administration from Husson in 2003. Additionally, Walker was a four-year letter winner and captain for the women’s basketball team at the University of Maine from 1983-86 Walker is a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WCBA). As well as a former member of the Maine Association of Physical Education (MAPHERED), the Board of Directors for the Bangor Humane Society and is the former president of The Maine Sports Legends, which awards annual scholarships to Maine youths. A native of Santa Anna, Calif., Walker attended Cony High School in Maine. Megan Patterson '20

Head Coach

Megan Patterson was announced as the Husson University cheer and dance head coach in August of 2023. COACHING TIMELINE: 2023-Present: Husson University (Cheer and Dance Head Coach) ATHLETIC CAREER: Patterson was a member of the Husson University cheer team from 2014-2019. She earned the program's Eagle Award in 2019 and earned honors from Husson from 2016-2020. Patterson was involved in All Star Cheer from 2004 to 2014. Patterson’s All-Star Team won the US Final in Orlando, Fla. in 2011 after competing against the best All-Star Teams across the country. PERSONAL: A native of Lisbon, N.H. Patterson graduated from Husson in 2020 with a bachelor's of science in psychology. She currently resides in Winterport, Maine with her husband Calvin and children Thomas and Mackexnzie.
