Seamus O'Connor
Head Coach
Seamus O'Connor is in his first season as the Mighty Macs' head women's soccer coach in 2025. The Mighty Macs went 4-10-1 (3-4 AEC) in O'Connor's first season as the women's head coach. Paul Murphy, Immaculata University Director of Athletics and Recreation announced the hiring of Seamus O’Connor as the next Head Coach of Immaculata’s Women’s Soccer program and Operations Manager. “Seamus has experience at the Division I, II and III levels as a Head Coach where he has been instrumental in developing women’s soccer programs,” said Paul Murphy. “We are excited to have someone of high quality at the helm to continue the upward trend. Our student-athletes deserve strong leaders, and we are incredibly happy to welcome Seamus to the IU community.” O’Connor brings 17 years of college head coaching experience at all three NCAA levels to the Immaculata’s women’s program, including spending seven seasons as Head Coach of Temple University’s women’s team. During his time at Temple two of O’Connor’s teams set the program record for wins in a single season. O’Connor is no stranger to Immaculata having served as Men’s Head Soccer Coach in 2005 and 2006. After Immaculata, O’Connor spent four years at Chestnut Hill College serving as both Men’s and Women’s Head Coach and Director of Soccer. Following his time at Chestnut Hill O’Connor spent two seasons assistant women’s soccer coach at Temple, before spending seven seasons as Women’s Head Soccer Coach. After Temple, O’Connor spend the 2021 and 2022 season as Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Alvernia University. He spent the 2023-24 as the Head Boys Soccer Coach at Camden Catholic High School and coached with the PDA Soccer Youth Club in Westhampton, NJ coaching high school aged ECNL Teams. He served as Director of Coaching for the PA Rush Youth Soccer Team in Doylestown, PA in 2024. “I consider myself to be truly blessed to get this opportunity to return to Immaculata University as the Women’s Soccer Head Coach,” said O’Connor. “. I want to thank Paul Murphy for believing in me to lead the program. Coaching at a catholic school is important to me because of everything it stands for. My wife always reminds me about telling her that one of my favorite parts about coaching at Immaculata University the first time was seeing the Sisters of the IHM at our games cheering us on and I hope I can give them lots to cheer about with the Women's soccer program.” “Every day I get to walk past three Women's Basketball National Championship trophies on my way to work and seeing those trophies lets me know it is okay to dream big about what this women’s soccer program can do because dreams do come true and the Mighty Macs have shown that even the wildest of dreams can come true,” added O’Connor. “My former Athletic Director and current Vice President, Student Development & Undergraduate Admissions/Dean of Students, Patricia Canterino, once said “Immaculata is a place we believe anything is possible.” I am so excited to see what those possibilities are for the women’s soccer program. The program will be following the core values of Immaculata University – caring, learning, integrity, faith, teamwork, and service. O’Connor earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Technological University of Shannon in Ireland, and his Graduate Diploma in Recreational Management from the University of Limerick in Ireland. ***Career Record at Immaculata/Career Record Overall updated as of Dec. 19, 2025***
