Joe Griffin

Coach

Griffin, who previously coached the men's and women's golf programs at Simpson University in California. "The biggest thing I will bring is experience and recruiting at the college level. We will do things at the highest level we can afford and really put in the effort and resources it will take to make it a good collegiate program." Griffin started and coached the golf programs for five years during his time as athletic director at Simpson University in northern California. The program Griffin built sent multiple individuals to national competitions, and Simpson's men's and women's golf teams both qualified for the NCCAA national tournament this past fall. Griffin oversaw the IU East program's lowest 18-hole spring team score and the program's first individual tournament medalist during his first season with the Red Wolves. Those program-best scores got even better during the 2015-16 season, and Griffin also coached Breanna Nowak, who became IU East's first conference tournament medalist and national tournament qualifier. "I know what it takes to help you reach your highest potential," Griffin said. "I know the effort it takes and how to help you put in that effort." Seth Biava is an assistant coach for the Indiana University East golf teams. Biava has more than 15 years of experience in the golf industry. He previously served as an assistant golf professional at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond, at The Hawthorns Golf and Country Club in Fishers, and at Woodstock Club in Indianapolis. He was a volunteer coach for the inaugural year of Richmond's The First Tee program in 2010. He served as a volunteer assistant for the IU East women's golf program in 2014-15. Biava was a member of the Danville Area Community College men's golf team from 2002-2004. Danville was consistently ranked in the NJCAA Top 25 during Biava's career, including a No. 7 national ranking in the fall of 2003. Biava graduated from Indiana State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology. He served as a volunteer assistant for the Indiana State women's golf team in 2006.
