Ithaca College Men's Football

The Ithaca College football program will welcome Brandon Maguire to South Hill as its new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach heading into the 2024 season. Maguire brings over a decade of coaching experience to the Ithaca football program. Maguire most recently served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Chicago during the 2023 season. The Maroons went 6-4 last season in the Midwest Conference and averaged 32.5 points and 402.5 yards per game. Four offensive players were named all-conference. Maguire also spent the 2022 season as a defensive line coach in the USFL with the Philadelphia Stars. His path crossed with head coach Michael Toerper at the College of the Holy Cross where he was an offensive quality control coach, assistant wide receivers coach and assistant offensive line coach from 2020-22. During that time, the Crusaders made two appearances in the FCS playoffs and won two Patriot League titles. Before his appointment at Holy Cross, Maguire coached for five seasons (2015-20) at the University of Northern Colorado in various roles. He would be selected to attend the NFL Leadership Academy in 2019. Maguire got his start in coaching as a student at the University of Montana after an injury kept him off the field in 2012. He then was a graduate assistant at Langston University in 2013 and coached one year at Montana Tech in 2014. Maguire played wide receiver at Montana where he earned a bachelor's degree in sociology with a concentration in criminology in 2013. He then earned his master's in sports coaching from Northern Colorado in 2016.

Ithaca College football head coach Michael Toerper announced the addition of Drew Miller ’21 to the staff as the offensive line coach for the upcoming 2023 season. Miller comes back to his alma mater after one season as a graduate assistant coach at St. Lawrence University, where he worked with the running banks and tight ends. In his first year working with the offensive line, Ithaca ran for nearly 200 yards per game and four starters on the line were named All-Liberty League, including first team honors for Colin Norton and JoJo Puckey. The line also allowed just five sacks all season and were named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after IC's 24-10 win over Rochester on October 21. IC rushed for 317 yards and three touchdowns in that victory. Miller will take over the reins of a unit that allowed just six sacks over 13 games in 2022 and led the way to IC averaging over 37 points and nearly 200 yards rushing per game. While at St. Lawrence, the Saints went 4-6 this fall. SLU averaged over 116 yards rushing per game, while tight end Joseph Ott, an honorable mention all-Liberty League selection, caught 18 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns in eight games. As a member of the Ithaca College football program, Miller was a two-time Liberty League All-Academic performer and played in six games. He graduated from Ithaca in December 2021 with a degree in business administration. 12/1/23

Gonzales comes to Ithaca after spending the last four years on the staff as his alma mater, University of Northern Colorado. He was most recently the general manager in 2025 where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the football program, working directly with the head coach on all administrative, logistical, financial, and personnel-related matters. Gonzales joined the UNC coaching staff in 2022 as the Bears' defensive line coach. He remained with the program in 2023 as a volunteer assistant before earning a graduate assistant role and transitioning into Director of Football Operations. In 2024, he added Chief of Staff responsibilities. He was a four-time team captain and earned Academic All-Big Sky honors five times during his playing career. Gonzales earned his bachelor's degree in business management with a minor in finance and his MBA in general business.

Colzie was most recently the head coach at Florida A&M University in 2024 and 2025. He was on the FAMU staff since 2022 and assumed the head coaching position following a 2023 season in which the Rattlers won the SWAC and Celebration Bowl. He began his coaching career in 2000 at Florida International University and has had other notable stops at Florida State University, University of West Georgia and Valdosta State. Colzie also spent eight seasons coaching in Canada. Colzie was a two-sport athlete at Florida State from 1993-97 and was part of the Florida State 1993 National Championship team and three ACC championship teams.
