Erin Dinan

Coach

Dinan, who continues to serve as an assistant coach for the womens track & field program, replaced Ithaca College Hall of Fame coach Bill Ware who completed his 24th year with the team in 2011. Dinan's first Empire 8 Coach of the Year came back in 2012 after leading the Bombers to an Empire 8 title, a second-place finish at the state meet and a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships. With its regional finish, Ithaca earned a bid to the NCAA Championships after a two-year hiatus. The Bombers returned to the NCAA Championships a year later following a sixth-place showing at the regional meet. Dinan coached graduate student Jenn Randall to an All-America finish of 12th - Ithacas first All-American in five years. The team, who won the conference championship and was the NYSCTC runner-up, placed 23rd at the national meet. As an assistant with the women's cross country staff from 2006-11, Dinan helped lead Ithaca to six consecutive Empire 8 titles, six runner-up finishes at the NYSCTC Championships and six top-10 finishes at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships. She joined the Ithaca staff after serving as an assistant coach at Rensselaer in 2005. Prior to arriving at Rensselaer, Dinan was an official at Northern Arizona and an assistant coach at Alfred. She also held an assistant track & field coaching position at Ithaca High School for three seasons. Dinan, a USATF Level I certified track & field coach, earned her bachelors degree in psychology from Cortland in 2003, where she was a member of the cross country and track & field teams. She was a cross country national qualifier in 1999 and 2002 and served as team captain her junior and senior years. Dinan was also a six-time SUNYAC track & field medalist under current Ithaca womens track & field head coach Jennifer Potter.
