After being named a First Team All-Region selection, he went on to continue his career at Charleston Southern and Emporia State.   He graduated from Emporia State with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in health and physical education.   Pierce and his wife, Raney, have two children, daughter Layla and son Malcolm.
