Diego Torres
Assistant Coach
Torres enters his second season as an assistant coach in 2025-26. 2024-25 Torres was promoted to an assistant coach in the lead up to the 2024-25. The Dolphins went 14-17 (6-10 ASUN) and reached the play-in round of the ASUN Tournament. Torres aided in the development of All-ASUN players Edyn Battle (1st Team) and Saniyah Craig (3rd Team). 2023-24 Torres joined the staff in Jacksonville as a graduate assistant. The Dolphins went 11-20 (6-10 ASUN) in the first season under head coach Special Jennings. Prior to JU Torres worked with the women's basketball program at the Unversity of Oregon during his undergraduate years, working as a practice player and assistant.

Topher Adams
Assistant Coach
Topher Adams joined the Jacksonville Athletic Department in the fall of 2024 as an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant. Adams spent the past year working with the communications staff of Orlando City Soccer Club and the Orlando Pride. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Telecommunications. During his time at UF, he served as the assistant sports editor for the Independent Florida Alligator. He covered Florida football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and lacrosse during his time at the paper. Adams is from Orlando, Florida. In his free time, he serves as a beat writer covering the Denver Outlaws of the Premier Lacrosse League.

Burks joins the staff in Jacksonville after a standout playing career. She spent two seasons at North Carolina Central, where she averaged over 11 points in each season. She earned All-MEAC honors in the 2023-24 seasons, her first year with the Eagles. She played in 59 games over two seasons. Before her time at North Carolina Central, she also had stops at Daytona State College and Illinois-Chicago. 2023-24: MEAC Player of the Week (Nov. 22) ... 2023 Preseason All-MEAC First Team. Ranked for most three-pointers made in school history at 10 in one game. Led the team in three-point field goal percentage at 31%. Scored a season-high of 34 points, including making 10 three-pointers in the same game. Other season highs were scoring 17 points in the first half with five made four made three-pointers. 2022-23 (North Carolina Central University): Second Team All-MEAC ... Three-time MEAC Player of the Week (Dec. 20, Feb. 7, Feb. 21) ... NCCU's top scorer with an average of 12.6 points per game ... Played in 30 games, including 25 starts, and scored in double digits in half of her games played (15) ... Taylor Miller
Coach
Taylor Miller joined Jacksonville University Athletics in August 2021 as an Academic Athletic Advisor, working primarily with men's and women's basketball. Prior to coming to JU, she worked as an Academic Success Coach from 2020-21 at Stony Brook University. She worked with a caseload of football student-athletes and advised, assisted and mentored athletes in different areas of their academic, personal and professional lives, while collaborating with coaches and various athletic department personnel to enhance the student-athlete experience. From January 2019 to August 2020, she served as an Academic Coach at Helix Charter High School in San Diego, Calif., teaching ninth-11th grade math subjects in the Academic Support department. Miller was also the girl's junior varsity basketball head coach and was an assistant on the varsity girl's staff. Miller graduated from State University of New York College at Cortland (SUNY Cortland) in 2018 with a B.A. in Communication Studies, with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising. She completed her master's degree at Stony Brook, graduating Summa Cum Laude with an M.A. in Higher Education Administration in 2021. A basketball player in college, she started her career at Queens College, leading the team to its first ECC Championship and participating in the NCAA Division II Tournament. She transferred to SUNY Cortland for her remaining three years, and served as a team captain, helping lead the team to the postseason every year she was there. Miller was selected as a Red Letter Award Winner and Unsung Hero Award winner in 2018, and was a two-team Defensive Player of the Year (2016/18). A native of Freeport, N.Y., she also excelled in soccer and softball in high school.
