Jennifer Borocz

Assistant Coach

Borocz has led the Jacksonville University womens golf program to unparalleled success. During her tenure at the helm, the Dolphins have seen a number of school record fall and sent an individual into NCAA post season play for the first time in program history. The team has also achieved its best back-to-back conference tournament finishes since the program was formed in 1985. The 2014-15 campaign was certainly one to remember for the Dolphins as Borocz mentored three all-conference recipients in Jessica Welch (first team), Sabrina Rumbaugh (second team) and Shania Berger (all-freshmen). The trio also marks the first time in program history that three individuals were recognized for the Dolphins with post season accolades and the first time two have been named to the all-conference team in the same season since 1993 when Jacksonville was a member of the Sun Belt Conference.   Welch made more history as she was also the first in program history to be named the golfer of the year. In addition she also was the A-Sun Womens Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year topping off a season full of accolades. Under the guidance of Borocz, Welch achieved another program first as she earned an at-large invitation into the 2015 NCAA Regional. The outstanding senior capped the year setting school records for stroke average in a single season (73.59) and a career (75.41). The team was just as stellar in 2015 posting a school mark 304.45 team scoring average besting the number set the previous season. In three year under Borocz, the Dolphins have improved each year and own three of the four best single season team scoring averages in program history.   The 2013-14 season was highlighted by a team victory at the Cincinnati Spring Invitational which gave Jacksonville its first tournament title since the spring of 2007. The classroom success transcended throughout the team which had the highest team GPA among Jacksonvilles 19 sports programs for both fall 2014 (3.67) and spring 2015 (3.69). Borocz came to Jacksonville University after putting together a stellar playing career and a background in teaching golf. Hailing from outside St. Paul, Minn., she has extensive experience on the professional level as a Class A member of the PGA. Prior to her time with the Dolphins she was enrolled in the PGA Golf Management program where she completed 16 months of an internship with the TPC Network including TPC Twin Cities and TPC Sawgrass.   She was elected to PGA membership in June, 2009, and worked as an assistant pro at TPC Twin Cities followed by a stint at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach. She was hired at TPC Sawgrass full time in March of 2010. During her tenure with the TPC Network, Borocz worked in a variety of capacities including golf instruction to players of all ages. In addition to her teaching background, Borocz has numerous PGA tournament wins to her credit. In 2011, she attended the LPGA Qualifying School and advanced through Stage I and was forced to withdraw from Stage II due to a back injury. She has won the Winter Championships Women's Stroke Play Championship, the North Florida Section Women's Championship twice, the North Florida Section Assistant Championship and the Minnesota Section Luther Pro Series Event among others. During her collegiate career she was a four-year letter winner, team captain and led Sam Houston State to the Southland Conference title in 2004 and 2007. Borocz also won myriad individual awards while at Sam Houston State. She was the 2008 Southland Conference Women's Golf Athlete of the Year and an All-Conference first team selection. In 2007 was named second team all-conference. Throughout her collegiate career, Borocz was an individual medalist and runner-up in numerous events and was named to all-academic and all-scholar teams from 2006-2008. Borocz's husband, Matt, is Assisstant General Manager and Director of Golf at TPC Sawgrass. The couple has one boy, Carter.
