Bob Baginski

Head Coach

Bob Baginski enters his third season as head softball coach in 2025-26. Baginski coached the Rams to a 13-20 record in his first season, including five in a row that earned him his first CACC victory against Dominican. Baginski had the Rams finish 10th in the conference, with Jefferson winning their final three games of the season against Georgian Court and a sweep over Chestnut Hill. During the 2025 year, Jefferson posted a 16-26 record, emphasizing the importance of league play as the Rams finished 13-9 in the CACC. That earned them fourth place in the CACC Championships and a home contest, the first for the program since 2019. He got his squad a 3-1 win over Caldwell to advance to the CACC Elimination Portion of the bracket, where Jefferson got the 2-0 upset victory over top-seed and host institution University of Bridgeport in the first game of the elimination tournament. Baginski has coached two All-Conference players during his time as the Ram's head coach as well as a Rookie of the Year (Delaney Alix - 2025). In the classroom, Jefferson has accumulated 13 CACC All-Academic students. Baginski brings nearly two decades of experience at the high school and youth levels to the Rams’ program. Most recently, Baginski was the head coach at Abington High School, where he led the program to the district playoffs for the first time since 2015. Baginski’s squads garnered a dozen All-League selections and multiple players went on to continue their careers at the collegiate level. Off the field, he created fundraising events to generate revenue for the program, including clinics for local youth. Baginski was also an assistant coach for the Suburban One League team at the Carpenter Cup, helping the squad take third in 2022.   Prior to Abington, Baginski was a head coach for the eXpress Softball Club in Ambler from 2016-21. He had stints leading the 14U, 16U, and 18U squads while with the club. Several players were recruited by college programs with multiple continuing their careers in the collegiate ranks. Baginski’s teams claimed two tournament titles with a total of nine top-two finishes. His 14U unit placed 13th at the 2017 national championships. Baginski also has coached at the youth level with the Springfield Township and Upper Dublin leagues. Fred Perrin

Head Coach

Fred Perrin enters his third season as head men's and women's tennis coach in 2025-26. Perrin joined the Rams as Associate Head Coach for the 2022-23 campaign. He helped lead both Jefferson squads to the NCAA Tournament with the men reaching the Round of 16 for the first time. The men claimed their second straight CACC title while the women advanced to the final for the second year in a row. Both squads set their respective school records for wins in a season. Perrin guided both teams to CACC Championship appearances in the 2023-24 season, with both squads making the finals for a third consecutive season. The men's tennis team won their third straight title and enter the first CACC/ECC matchup. The Rams won the NCAA East Region match and made it to the Round of 16 for the second straight year. Perrin earned CACC Coach of the Year honors for men's while coaching CACC Player of the Year Hannibal Borg and CACC Co-Rookie of the Year Johary Rabetrano. He also coached six CACC All-Conference players (Men: Borg, Jules Thibault, Enrique Soto Ballester; Women: Nicole Hrbkova, Noelle Frenzel, Charly Egger).  During the 2024-25 year, the women's team made the CACC Tournament once again while the men earned the best-of-three series against Chestnut Hill to take the CACC title. The men's team made the NCAA East Regional for the fourth straight year while the women had a CACC Rookie of the Year by way of Alycia Veroux. She earned All-CACC First Team honors while Nicole Hrbkova and Anna Morgillo took Second Team recognition. Prior to arriving at Jefferson, Perrin was the Director of Tennis at the Philadelphia Sports Club at Highpoint in Chalfont. He supervised all teaching pros and staff, handled the needs of the membership, managed the club's website and communications, directed and managed the maintenance crew, and created new programs for the club. Perrin played professionally on the ATP Tour and reached world rankings of 296th in doubles and 655th in singles. He attended South Florida, where he won the Florida Intercollegiate Singles title and was a Sun Belt Conference champion in doubles. Perrin won the USTA National Men's Amateurs Doubles Championship and had peak USTA National Men's Amateurs rankings of #1 in doubles and #4 in singles. He was also ranked as high as 35th in singles by the NCAA. Prior to attending South Florida, Perrin played in the Junior US Open and was a finalist in the USTA Interscholastic Singles and Doubles Championship. He was ranked number one on the MSTA Boys 18s Singles list and 26th by the USTA. Perrin won three state medals for singles while competing for Neshaminy High School and was inducted into the Neshaminy High School Hall of Fame. Larry Cooper

Cooper enters his second season as the head coach of the Philadelphia University softball team in 2016. Cooper brings 35 years of softball coaching experience to the team. In his first season as the Rams' head coach, Cooper led the team to a 19-25 record, 12-14 against the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Philadelphia earned the CACC Sportsmanship Award and Emma Haley was named to the All-CACC first team. Before stepping into the head coach role, Cooper was a volunteer assistant coach for the Rams from 2009 through 2014. In those six seasons, Philadelphia compiled a 126-139 overall record, 77-77 in CACC play, and reached four CACC Tournaments. The Rams won a school record 26 games in 2010. Cooper started his collegiate career with assistant coaching stints at the University of the Sciences (1997-05) and Rosemont College (2006-08). As a travel softball coach, Cooper has taken his teams around the world to play in tournaments in Australia, Holland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, England, Canada and Belgium. In 2011, Cooper was asked to coach a USA B team in the Canada Cup, but was unable to do so because of health reasons. Cooper got his start at the recreation level as an assistant coach for the Pennsbury Panthers 18U team in 1989 and 1990. In 1990, Cooper co-founded the Philadelphia Spirit Fastpitch organization and served as the head coach of the 16U squad until 1997. He moved over to the Delco Diamonds 18U team as an assistant in 1997. At the high school level, Cooper was an assistant at St. Basils Academy in 1997 and Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1998 and 1999.

Zach Elbin

Assistant Coach

Elbin is in his second season as the head coach of the Philadelphia University men's and women's tennis teams. In Elbins debut season, the men posted a 10-11 overall record and qualified for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament with a 4-3 conference mark, while the women had an 8-5 season. Luis Molina Megias and Celso de Vera Rehberger represented the Ram men on the All-CACC second team, and Julia Arruda earned a place on the All-CACC second team for the Philadelphia women. Five student-athletesfour women, one manwere named to the CACC All-Academic Team. Before taking over as the programs head coach, Elbin spent the 2014-15 season as an assistant coach for the Rams. He helped the women's team go 15-7 and the men post a 10-12 record. Both teams reached the CACC Tournament. In addition to his coaching duties at Philadelphia University, Elbin is a tennis instructor at Legacy Youth Tennis and Education in its Neighborhood Base Program, munchkin and junior development clinics, and Legacy Training Camp. A 2014 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace with a degree in education, Elbin played at the varsity level for four seasons, complied a combined record of 33-19, and was a part of the 2011-12 NCAA Tournament team. He had a 17-6 doubles record during the 2013-14 campaign.

Tim Moyer

Assistant Coach

Moyer is going into his second season as the head coach of the Philadelphia University women's volleyball program after being named to the post on March 3, 2015. Moyer made an immediate impact on the Rams in his first season, leading the team to a 21-7 overall recorda six-win improvement from 2014the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) southern division title with a 16-3 conference record and an appearance in the CACC Tournament semifinals. Chelsea Hughes and Corinne Justus earned a place on the All-CACC first team and Michele Chai was a second team selection. Moyer was honored as the CACC Coach the Year. The Rams had one of the top attacks in the conference as they led the CACC in service aces per set (2.16) and were ranked second in kills per set (12.31), assists per set (11.30), and hitting percentage (.204). Moyer is also the director of coaching development of the GPS CRUSH Volleyball Club in Chalfont, Pa. In this role, Moyer develops technical coaches of team play and advanced strategies for the 15U through 18U teams and handles the training for all athletes. Before coming to Philadelphia University, Moyer had five successful seasons at North Penn High School as the head coach of the boys volleyball program. With Moyer at the helm, the Knights posted 61-19 overall record, 28-9 against the Suburban One League (SOL), and qualified for the District 1-AAA playoffs each year. In 2013, North Penn finished third in the District 1-AAA Tournament and reached the PIAA AAA Tournament for the first time in six seasons. Six different players have been named to the SOL Continental Conference teamincluding three first team selectionsand three Knights earned All-District 1 AAA first team recognition under Moyers tutelage. In 2012, Matt Elias represented North Penn on the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association AAA Boys All-State First Team. Outside of volleyball, Moyer has an extensive strength and conditioning background. For four years, Moyer was the head strength and conditioning coach for the Philadelphia KIXX, including the 2006-07 championship season. Moyer is currently an account manager at Dispense Doc in Bala Cynwyd, Pa.
