John Carroll University Men's Basketball

Moran begins his fifth season as an assistant coach for the John Carroll men's basketball team in 2016-17. Son of JCU head coach Mike Moran, he joined the Blue Streaks' coaching staff after serving as the head coach of Berkshire High School from 2008-11. Among his high school coaching accolades are Chagrin Valley Conference (CVC) Coach of the Year (2009, 2010, 2011), Division III District Coach of the Year (2009, 2011), and News Herald Coach of the Year (2010).  He won three conference championships and led the Badgers to the Ohio Division III District Championship in 2010 and 2011. Moran is a 2007 graduate of John Carroll, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and was a four-year starter and three-time All-OAC point guard for the Blue Streaks.  During his tenure as a player, JCU won three OAC regular season championships and participated in three NCAA Tournaments, including the 2004 NCAA Division III "Final Four." The third place finish in 2004 is the best in program history. Moran also helped lead the Blue & Gold to the Division III "Sweet 16" in 2005 and 2007. In 2016, Moran earned his Masters in Physical Education, Health and Recreation from Emporia State University. He is married to Christina (Saluan) Moran, Ph.D, is a 2007 graduate of John Carroll where she earned her Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. The couple has two sons, Thomas and Ernest. Moran is a physical education and health teacher at Lake Catholic High School and is in his sixth year as the boys' golf coach. 

Pat Moran '00 is in his ninth season as an assistant coach for the John Carroll University Men's Basketball program entering the 2025-26 academic year. Pat is the brother of head coach Pete Moran as well as former JCU standouts Matt Moran and Bridgette Chicone. He is also the son of legendary John Carroll University coach, Mike Moran. Moran has helped the Blue Streaks ascend back to the top of the OAC in recent years, with back-to-back-to-back OAC Regular Season Championships along with winning the 2025 and 2024 OAC Tournament Championships. JCU has reached the NCAA Tournament in three straight seasons.  Pat Moran joined the John Carroll staff with over 21 years of coaching experience at the high school level. Fifteen of those years were as the head coach at Berkshire Jr./Sr. High School and Madison High School. He also holds the record at Madison for most coaching wins. As a high school head coach, Pat has been named Northeast Ohio District Division I Coach of the Year once and the Division III Coach of the Year twice. He was also named the News-Herald Coach of the Year, the GCBCA Division I Coach of the Year, and the C.V.C and P.A.C Coach of the Year three times.  Pat has been a social studies teacher for over 20 years and is currently teaching at Madison High School. A graduate of John Carroll, Pat earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2000 before getting his Master's degree from Marygrove College in 2005. Pat resides in Mayfield Heights with his wife of over 20 years, Lori, and their three children: Michael (25), who recently graduated from John Carroll, Grace (21), and Lucy (17).  

Emily Taylor '15, '20G enters her fourth season as a coach at John Carroll in 2025-26, her first since a stint at Division I. Taylor assists in a part-time capacity while working full-time at JCU as an Academic Success Advisor. She began in this role in spring 2025.  Taylor previously served for three years as a graduate assistant for JCU Women's Basktball, highlighted by the 2019 OAC Tournament Championship, a program first.  In 2020, Taylor followed Kelly Morrone from JCU to Merrimack College, a Division I school in Massachusetts. Taylor helped elevate the Merrimack program for four years, including back-to-back NEC Tournament appearances in the last two years. That experience gave way to a one-year stint at Cleveland State University for the 2024-25 campaign.  Taylor played for the Blue and Gold from 2012-15. She was a key contributor to the programs first ever OAC regular season championship as a player in 2014 and led the Blue Streaks to back to back NCAA tournament appearances in 2014 and 2015. Taylor also ranks 13th in program history for assists and ninth all-time in three-point field goals made during her career.   

Dave Wojciechowski is entering his third season as an assistant coach in the 2025-26 basketball season. In each of his first two seasons, the Blue Streaks won the OAC regular season and tournament crowns. The Blue Streaks appeared in both the 2025 and 2025 NCAA Tournaments under his watch. Wojciechowski has provided excellent leadership in a number of areas as the program's full-time assistant coach on staff.  Wojciechowski, a Cleveland native, graduated from St. Joseph's High School (now Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School) in 1990. In his senior year, he was named to the All-Ohio third team. Wojciechowski was fortunate enough to attend and play college basketball on full scholarship at Division II Clarion University. After his playing days, he graduated from Cleveland State in 2000, which led him to receive his masters' degree in school counseling in 2014. Wojciechowski has been coaching in Northeast Ohio for 28 years, 22 of those years as a head coach. He spent 11 years as head coach at his alma mater, VASJ, from 2000-2010. In 2012, he became the head coach at Painesville Harvey High School. Wojciechowski recorded his 300th career win as a coach in February 2023.
