Melissa (Missy) Gedeon enters her fifth season with JCU women's golf in the 2025-26 academic year, her fourth as head coach. She previously served as the assistant coach of the women's golf program in the 2021-22 school year.  Gedeon has begun to build a strong program in University Heights. In her fourth season, the Blue Streaks notched a fifth-place finish at the 2025 OAC Championships. In her third season, the Blue Streaks finished fourth at the 2024 OAC Championships, the program's best finish since 2018. JCU also won its first program victory since 2011, finishing first at the Yellow Jacket Spring Invitational in April 2024.  She was previously the women’s head golf coach at Hiram College from 2017-19.  Gedeon is an accomplished golfer. Gedeon has competed in six United States Golf Association Championships representing northern Ohio and placing in multiple Ohio amateur events. She still competes in many local golf leagues and has recorded six hole-in-ones in her lifetime. As a collegian, Gedeon earned an athletic scholarship to play golf at the University of Michigan where she lettered in all four years. She graduated in 1987 with B.A. in economics. Gedeon also earned an M.A. in Education from Notre Dame College in 2013 and graduated from Lake Catholic High School in Mentor in 1983. Currently, Gedeon is the Marketing and Compliance Manager at Industrial Surface Sealer, Inc. located in Cleveland. She resides in nearby Hudson with her husband Carl and children Sara and Grant, who graduated from John Carroll in 2023. 

Jeff Pawlowski '91 enters his 10th season as a coach with JCU Men's Golf in the 2025-26 school year, his second as head coach. Pawlowski served eight seasons as assistant coach before being promoted in June 2024 following the retirement of the legendary Mike Moran. Pawlowski is just the third leader of the JCU Men's Golf program since 1980. In his first season, Pawlowski steered the Blue Streaks to the OAC Championship, the 20th conference crown in program history. Pawlowski guided John Carroll to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2022. JCU tallied a 15th place effort, the program's best finish since 1997.  As an assistant coach, Pawlowski helped to lead the Blue Streaks to the 2022 OAC Championship, the program's first OAC tournament title since 1997. The Blue Streaks made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 25 years, as well. JCU notched second-place finishes at the OAC Championships in 2021 and 2018. Originally from the Chicago area, Pawlowski attended John Carroll University from 1987-1991. He was a member of the golf team all four years. JCU won back-to-back PAC (Presidents Athletic Conference) Championships in 1988 and 1989. The 1989-1990 season was highlighted by an OAC Championship and the golf team's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Blue Streaks finished 11th in Division III at the national championships. After graduating in 1991 with degree in Communications, Pawlowski moved back the Chicago area, where we was a PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Kemper Lakes Golf Course, Mt. Prospect Golf Club and Arlington Heights Golf Mart until 1995. From 1996 through 2004, along with his father and brother, Pawlowski owned two retail golf shops in the Chicagoland suburbs. Pawlowski currently resides in Highland Heights with his wife and daughter.

Moran has accumulated a 442-221 (.677) record since taking over as the head of the program on May 29, 1992. In 24 years of basketball under Moran, the Blue Streaks have won ten Ohio Athletic Conference regular season championships (1994, 1996, 1998, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012), four OAC Tournament championships (2003, 2004, 2009 and 2016) and have appeared in the NCAA Division III playoffs on 12 occasions (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2015 and 2016). In 11 different years, his teams have posted at least 20 wins.  Moran guided his 2015-16 squad to 21 consecutive wins before earning a second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The 2014-15 team earned the program's first berth since 2010. The 2009 squad won 21 straight games, on their way to an OAC regular season and tournament championship.  The Blue Streaks, who finished 25-5 (16-2 OAC), hosted two rounds of NCAA Tournament play and reached the Sweet 16. In 2007, the Blue Streaks earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament, and won two games to compete in the Sweet 16 in Rochester, NY. From 2003-05, John Carroll became just the fourth team since the 1978-79 season to win three consecutive OAC regular season titles, joining Otterbein (1985-87 and 1990-92) and Ohio Northern (1999-2001) in the elite company. Moran's 2003-04 edition of the Blue Streaks finished third in the nation, reaching the NCAA Division III Final Four for the first time in school history. JCU was 27-6 overall and 14-4 in league play to win the OAC title outright for the fourth time. It was also just the second time in the history of the school that any varsity team reached the national semifinals of an NCAA Division III postseason tournament. Only the 2002 Blue Streak football team had achieved that rare feat prior to the men's basketball team's Final Four appearance. Among his collegiate honors are being named OAC Coach of the Year in 1994, 1998, 2003, 2009, and 2010, and Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year in 1998 and 1999. Dozens of his players have earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors and six (J. J. Richardson, Mark Heidorf, David Gibbons, Brandon Mimes, Rudy Kirbus, and Corey Shontz) have earned All-Region accolades. Moran has also had more than 20 players selected to the Academic All-OAC team, and one of his charges -- Mark Heidorf in 1999 -- earned Academic All-America honors. Corey Shontz also earned All-American honors in 2012. Moran's record of 416-217 includes a mark of 275-137 (.667) in Ohio Athletic Conference regular season games. He is one of just 16 coaches in the 100-year history of the league to win at least 200 games at an OAC institution, and his winning percentage places among the top 15 all-time in that category as well.   In addition to his basketball duties, Moran has served as the men's golf coach at John Carroll for 22 years.  In men's golf, Moran has guided the Blue Streaks to a berth in the NCAA Division III Championships five times (placing third twice and fourth once).  His teams have captured three OAC titles, earning him Conference Coach of the Year accolades three times. Ten of his former JCU golfers have received All-American honors. He has also coached over 35 JCU golfers to earn All-OAC honors. On Sept. 24, 2010, Mike Moran was inducted into the John Carroll University Athletic Hallf of Fame. Moran came to John Carroll in 1992 with some very impressive credentials.  In 11 seasons at Cleveland Villa Angela-St.Joseph High School, he fashioned a record of 224-53 as the head boys' basketball coach.  In those 11 years, his teams captured nine district championships, four regional championships, and two state championships. For his coaching successes, Moran was named Northeastern Ohio Coach of the Year, Greater Cleveland Coach of the Year (twice), Cleveland Plain Dealer Coach of the Year (twice), and Lake County News-Herald Coach of the Year (three times) in his high school career. Following his graduation from Xavier University in 1973, Moran began his coaching career as a freshman coach at Elder High School in Cincinnati. After three seasons, he moved back to his hometown of Cleveland to take the reins of the freshman squad at his alma mater then known as St. Joseph High School. He was elevated to junior varsity in 1981, then to varsity in 1982. In 2003-04, Moran had the rare treat of being able to coach two of his four sons, Pete and Matt, on the same NCAA Final Four team. Moran and his wife, JoAnn, have six children and are also blessed with 14 grandchildren. They reside in Russell Township. Moran's son Pete serves as an assistant coach with the Blue Streaks.

Anthony Krakowiak '25 enters his first year as a volunteer assistant coach with Men's Golf in 2025-26. Krakowiak played for four years at John Carroll. The Northville, Michigan native earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors in 2025, 2024, and 2023. Krakowiak was the inaugural winner of the Keep Smiling Award, in honor of longtime head coach Mike Moran. Krakowiak, presented with the award in spring 2025, garnered the distinction on account of his leadership and positive attitude on and off the course.  Anthony is now working at Boyd Watterson in Cleveland. 

Milt Johnson enters his third season as an assistant coach with JCU Women’s Golf in the 2025-26 academic year. In Johnson's second season, the Blue & Gold tabbed a fifth-place effort at the OAC Championships. In his first campaign, the Blue Streaks notched a fourth-place finish at the OAC Championships (best program finish since 2018) and tallied a tournament victory for the first time since 2011. The 43-year PGA member most recently was the PGA Golf Professional at Manakiki Golf Course in Willoughby, Ohio. Before Manakiki Golf Course, he was the Director of Education for the Cleveland Metroparks and based at Washington Golf Course in Newburgh Heights. His other PGA Head Professional positions were at Legend Lake Golf Course, Madison Country Club, Fowler’s Mill Golf Course, and Fairway Pines Golf Course. Johnson has 13 years of college coaching experience as the Head Men’s Golf Coach at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio starting in 2003. Lake Erie was an NCAA Division 3 school at the time and competed in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. He was named AMCC Coach of the Year in 2007. Lake Erie made the jump to NCAA Division 2 in 2009. A Women’s Golf Team was added and Johnson coached both teams until 2015. Milt is a 1974 graduate of Painesville Harvey High School and a 1978 graduate of Mount Union College. He has three children and 11 grandchildren. He resides in Concord Township.

DiCillo continues to help mentor the men's and women's golf programs at John Carroll. DiCillo has had numerous roles with the JCU athletic department serving as assistant athletic director and department recruiting coordinator under Tony DeCarlo. DiCillo also served as offensive and defensive line coach under Jerry Schweickert. At JCU DiCillo started the women's golf program in the mid-1990s. As a former mathematics teacher and guidance counselor at West Geauga High School, DiCillo coached football and golf for the Wolverines. He also has had coaching stops at Saint Edward High School, Holy Name High School, Elyria Catholic High School ad St. John Cansius. DiCillo graduated with a dual degree in mathematics and physical education from Kent State before earning his Master's in guidance from John Carroll. He is happily married to Bonnie and the couple has four children and 13 grandchildren.

Trent Maxwell enters his first season as an assistant coach with John Carroll Women's Golf in 2025-26.  Maxwell is the premier fitter in the Northeast Ohio area, with vast golf knowledge that he will bring to the table. Since 2012, Maxwell has served as the General Manager and Director of Club Fitting at Windmill Golf Center. He began at Windmill in 2002 under the guidance of legendary coach Herb Page. Maxwell has a lengthy list of accolades and activities, including:  Merchandiser of the Year (Public Section for Northern Ohio): 2010, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023 Northern Ohio PGA Horton Smith Award Winner: 2018 Inducted into the Callaway Retail Hall of Fame: 2014 Top 100 Fitter (2013 - Present) for Ping, Mizuno, Cobra, TaylorMade, and Titleist Golf Digest Top 100 Fitter (2015 - Present) Titleist Staff Member: 2012 - 2019 Selected for the TaylorMade/Adidas Advisory Staff (1 of 55 in the country): 2007 - 2011 Ping Regional Fitter of the Year: 2005 & 2009 2nd Place in Mizuno Fitting/Sales in our region: 2006 and 2008 Averaged over 900 fittings a year for the last 9+ years Volunteer for PGA Senior Championship at Canterbury CC and Firestone CC Top 50 Golf Magazine Fitter: 2020 Srixon/Cleveland National Advisory: 2022 - Present Callaway Fitters Board: 2020 - Present Cobra National Advisory: 2019 - Present Mizuno National Advisory: 2023 - Present Maxwell graduated from the University of Akron in 2000 with a 3.4 GPA and a Double Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Management and Sales Management. Maxwell has been married to his wife, Andrea, since 2002, with two children: Madison, who is a freshman at John Carroll University (class of 2029), and Peyton, who is in the 8th grade at Copley City Schools. The Maxwell family resides in Fairlawn, Ohio. Originally from Coshocton, Ohio, Maxwell grew up with three older brothers.

Roule joined the John Carroll men's basketball program as a student assistant coach in 2010. His duties include assisting with the day-to-day operations and administrative functions of the program, video coordinating, recruiting, and trip planning. He is also an assistant coach for linebackers and safeties, as well as the special teams coordinator for the University School football program.  Roule served as the head junior varsity football coach at Chardon Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School from 2013 to 2014. In 2014, the Lions won their first playoff game in school history. He formerly was a varsity assistant football coach at Cleveland Benedictine High School.  In 2011, Roule helped the Bengals reach the state playoffs for the first time since 2005. Roule, who graduated in May 2014 with a Bachelor's in Finance and minor in Economics, came to John Carroll as a student-athlete but was sidelined by an injury before joining the men's basketball coaching staff. A 2010 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School in Elyria, Ohio, he was a varsity starter in basketball and football, earning Lorain County All-Star honors as a senior.  Roule is the son of Heather Roule and the late Bryan Duhe, and has a 13 year-old brother, Branson. He is pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree. Spencer Roule enters his seventh year with the John Carroll men's basketball team. He serves as graduate assistant for the men's basketball and men's golf programs. Roule joined the John Carroll men's basketball program as a student assistant coach in 2010. Derek Smith '19 enters his sixth season with the John Carroll Men's Golf coaching staff in the 2025-26 academic year. Smith is a 2019 John Carroll graduate. He played under Coach Mike Moran for three years, and is currently in the process of becoming a PGA professional. Smith helped the 2025 Blue Streaks win the OAC Championship and earn a ticket to the NCAA Tournament. Previously, Smith mentored the 2022 Blue Streaks to an OAC crown and the program's first trip to the NCAA Championships since 1997. Upon graduation, Smith became the assistant golf professional at Weymouth Country Club in Medina. Smith is now working as the assistant golf professional at Avon's Red Tail Golf Club and spends his winter months working out of Hitterz Indoor Golf in North Ridgeville.
