The Rogan File Personal Hometown Houston, TX Education Millsaps, 2008 (Bachelor's) Professional 2023-Present Johns Hopkins University Head Coach 2019-2023 Rhodes College Head Coach 2013-19 Nebraska Omaha Assistant Coach 2010-13 Millsaps Assistant Coach (Men)   Accolades 2022 SAA Coach of the Year Updated:  September 2, 2025 First Day at Johns Hopkins: August 7, 2023 Rodney Rogan was named the eighth women's basketball coach in Johns Hopkins history on August 7, 2023.  Rogan enters his third season with the women’s basketball program after guiding the Blue Jays to back-to-back trips to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons – marking the second time in program history Hopkins has made back-to-back appearances in the NCAA’s Round of 16.   Under Rogan’s leadership, the Blue Jays have been crowned Centennial Conference regular-season champions twice, including a historic 2023-24 season which saw Hopkins finish with a program-best 26 wins, with its 19 conference wins also being the most all-time in program history.   Since taking over the Blue Jay women’s basketball program, Rogan has played a key role in the development of two CSC Academic All-Americans. In addition, three players earned D3Hoops.com All-Regions honors, while 10 student-athletes earned All-Conference, including two first team selections. Prior to Homewood, he served as the head coach at Rhodes College for four seasons.   Rogan guided the Lynx to a four-year record of 67-28 (.705), including a 40-11 (.784) regular season record in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).  Rhodes won each of the last three SAA tournament titles (2021, 2022, 2023) and earned two trips to the NCAA Tournament (2022, 2023).   Under Rogan's guidance, the Lynx enjoyed one of the finest seasons in school history during the 2021-22 season as they posted a 23-3 record, including a perfect 12-0 mark in SAA play, and hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament.  Rhodes claimed its second consecutive SAA title, won a school-record 16 consecutive games at one point in the season and rose as high as #19 in the WBCA Poll, #23 in the D3hoops.com Poll and #2 in the official NCAA Regional Rankings.   During his tenure as the head coach at Rhodes, Rogan developed and coached four SAA Players of the Year and one SAA Defensive Player of the Year.  In addition, 14 of his players earned All-SAA honors and he was named the SAA Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season, while six members of the program earned D3hoops.com All-Region, including four first team selections, under his guidance.   Prior to his time at Rhodes, Rogan spent three seasons as an assistant men's basketball coach at his alma mater, Millsaps, from 2010-13 and then six seasons as an assistant with the women's basketball program at Division I Nebraska-Omaha.    Rogan graduated from Millsaps in 2008 with a degree in business administration and a minor in finance.  As a member of the Millsaps men's basketball team, he helped guide the Majors to a school-record 28 wins and a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight as a senior.  He concluded his career with 1,355 points, 580 rebounds, 245 assists and 110 steals and his 2007-08 Millsaps team was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 2018.
