Grogan most recently served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Northern Arizona University from 2009-2012. In his position with the Lumberjacks, Grogan was tasked with guard player development, recruiting, opponent scouting and academic supervision among other duties. While with Northern Arizona, he coached Cameron Jones, the 10 pick of the NBA D-League Draft selected by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Prior to his tenure at NAU, Grogan served as assistant at Metropolitan State University in Denver from 2008-2009. As a member of the Roadrunners coaching staff, he worked on individual skill development, recruiting and scouting as well as academic supervision.  Metro State finished the season with a 27-4 record and went 18-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on their way to being East Division and Conference tournament champions. On his hiring, Director of Athletics Sandee Mott stated, I am excited for Coach Grogan to join our staff and lead our mens basketball program.   His past experiences have prepared him for this opportunity to guide our program to the next level.  He is known for being one of the top recruiters in the western region, especially the southwest United States.  His enthusiasm and work ethic coupled with his genuine concern for the academic, social and athletic development of his students-athletes is a perfect fit for Johnson & Wales. Mike Dunlap, current head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats and former coach at Metro State University said of Grogan, Ive known Quintin for 10 years and believe he is a top flight recruiter, skilled at how he sees the game and an overall good person. It is great that someone can work as hard as Quintin has and reach this level and I endorse his selection to lead Johnson & Wales Universitys mens basketball program . Grogan earned his bachelors degree in business administration/marketing from California State University Dominguez Hills and taught within the Pasadena and Los Angeles Unified School Districts. He played collegiately at Skagit Valley College and California State University Long Beach.
