Judson University Men's Tennis

Moment is a USPTR Certified Tennis Instructor and the Fitness Center Manager on campus.   Coach Moment has been a proven leader and resource for the tennis program at Judson and looks forward to the higher level of tennis that Judson has been steadily increasing over the years. Tennis has always been part of his family history with his uncle playing in the earlier years of Wimbledon and a greater attention to the sport during the last 10 years as his 3 children started playing competitively. After being a former player for North Central College, he entered the professional world in finance and ministry. He has been part of the private sector in finance for 25 years and leadership over various men's ministry conferences in the Chicago area. He was a former mens ministry leader and currently attends Harvest Bible Chapel in Aurora. He has two boys and one daughter that all played competitive tennis. Coach Moments oldest son Andrew recently graduated from Judson and was a four year starter and team captain of the mens team. His younger son Jon, is a returning starter and Team Captain. His daughter Rebecca, played competitively in high school and is a senior in high school in his hometown of Yorkville. He has been married for 27 years to Lisa Moment and is fully committed to church, family and the mission of Judson University.    Over the last few years, Judsons tennis program has gained international awareness as some international recruiting companies are now actively looking to place top athletes at our university. Many of Coach Moments current and former players are teaching tennis at local tennis clubs and camps across the country while achieving USPTR and USPTA certifications. Isriz Balase, a recent graduate and former player has recently been hired by the well-known Peter Burwash International Tennis Company to teach tennis at famed tennis resorts around the world, while other graduates are certified tennis professionals and college tennis coaches.   The 2014-2015 season was an amazing season for the Eagles as they saw themselves receive a national ranking through the spring season at #7 in the NCCAA for the men's and women's teams. The hard work on and off the court provided them the opportunity to compete in the NCCAA North Central Regional Championships for both teams. After the mens team won the North Central Regional Championship, they advanced to the NCCAA National Championship in Mobile, AL.   2014-2015 season accomplishments:   2013-2014 season accomplishments: Judson University tennis program was brought back in 2009 and was coached and by a former player and Hall of Fame Athlete for Judson University. During those years, the men's and women's programs grew and saw many accomplishments under the former coach.   Coach Moment is committed to continuing the tradition of building up great young men and women that can impact the world in their families, work places and local churches and on the tennis court. The tennis program has spent their last few spring breaks in Orlando, Fla. preparing for their spring season while playing some competitive tennis programs. These trips not only allow the players the opportunity to strengthen their tennis abilities, they get to strengthen their relationships with fellow team members and build life-long friendships.  Go Eagles!
