Jon Cutright

Head Coach

Cutright enters his 23rd season as the head coach of the women's cross country team in 2015. He became the head coach of the women's cross country program prior to the 1993 season, and has guided the men's program since its reinstatement for the 1999-2000 school year. He is also the head coach of the mens and womens track and field teams.  Under Cutright's tutelage, Juniata has enjoyed several productive seasons in recent years, including nine top three finishes in the postseason and the 2007 Landmark Conference womens cross country title. The women nearly repeated in 2008, but finished second.  On the mens side, they continued to challenge for the conference crown with second place finishes in 2007, 2008, 2010, and most recently in 2013.  In 2012, Juniata cut its team scores from the previous years, with both finishing top 25 at the NCAA Mideast Regional.  The second place finish by the 2013 mens team was highlighted by five all-conference selections and one the womens side senior Katrina Woods was named Performer of the Year and earned a first-team all-conference selection. Collectively under Cutright, the cross country programs have earned 33 Landmark All-Conference nods. The 2009 season was a watershed campaign for Juniata men's cross country. Senior Matt Bailey finished 27th at regionals, and earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship in Cleveland, Ohio becoming the first Juniata male to earn a berth to the cross country championship. That performance came on the heels of a 2008 Landmark meet in which Juniata placed four runners among the top ten. During the 2010 season, the Juniata men placed two runners in the top ten, and had five finish among the top 20, led by Ceth Parker's fifth-place finish with a time of 27:26.40. In women's cross country, all-region performer Laura Rupprecht led the Eagles to their 2007 crown. The Juniata women have finished third in the conference meet in 2009, 2010 and 2012 with three Eagle runners placing among the top ten in 2010.  Cutright also serves as the head men's and women's track and field coach at Juniata. He took the job as the head of the track program prior to the 1998 spring season. He was the assistant track and field coach for both the men and women for three years before moving up to the head post.
