Bill Neale

Head Coach

Neale led the Coyotes to a 32-25 overall record and a 19-17 mark in the KCAC. KWU reached the KCAC Tournament for a second straight season as the No. 5 seed in the tournament. Six players earned All-KCAC honors during the season and Jordan Rousselle earned the KCAC Gold Glove in centerfield. Rousselle also earned First Team Academic All-America honors. Peyton Deiters was named as a First Team NAIA All-American. The Coyotes enjoyed unprecendented hitting success during the season, tallying a school record 689 hits and 71 homeruns. Deiters set a new school record with 91 hits and tied the single season homeruns record with 18.  In his first season with the Coyotes in 2015, he led KWU to a 30-26 record overall and a 16-12 mark in the KCAC. The Coyotes made their first appearance in the KCAC Tournament since 2012 and first Championship game appearance since 2011. He coached the Coyotes to a .326 team batting average and 71 homeruns. Senior Daniel Bolanos set a new school records for homeruns in a season with 18. Bolanos was selected as a Second Team NAIA All-American. KWU also had four Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes in Neale's first season and Thomas Cunningham was selected as a CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-American. Outfielder Jordan Rousselle was named the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina 2015 Big Brother of the Year and also was selected as the 2014-15 KCAC Champion of Character Male Student Athlete of the Year. Neale also coached nine All-KCAC players in his first season with the Coyotes.    Neale spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma, working for coach Ryan Bay. Neale coached the pitchers and catchers at Northwestern. In four seasons, Neale helped the Rangers drop their team ERA from 6.68 to 4.60.   Kansas Wesleyan has had an outstanding tradition in the past and has prided itself on its successes not only on the field, but in the classroom, and thats one thing that we look to continuing, Neale said. KWU has done an exceptional job of bringing out the best in its student-athletes.   Before Northwestern, Neale was head coach at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma, leading the Warriors to a 24-27 record in one season. He also spent four years as an assistant coach at Bacone, three of those seasons with Ryan Bay, before becoming head coach.   Neale was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection while playing four seasons at Bacone. During his career he caught a perfect game and caught Johnny Spencers NAIA record 25 strikeout performance in 2004.   The Collingwood, Ontario, Canada native played for the Ontario Blue Jays, an elite traveling team from Ontario, Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bacone College in Health and Physical Education and a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.   Coach Tyler Tyson begins his first season with Kansas Wesleyan University as an assistant, serving as the Coyotes pitching coach.   After attending Apache Junction High School in Apache Junction, Arizona; Tyson continued his education and baseball career at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona. Tyson then transferred to Kansas Wesleyan University where his playing career ended early due to injury.   Coach Tyson received his BS in Psychology in the Fall of 2015 from Kansas Wesleyan.
