Marcus “Chief” Bryant is entering his sixth season as the Head Men’s Basketball coach at Keiser University. Bryant was named the head coach of the Seahawks on June 4th, 2020. In that time, the Tritons made five National Tournament appearances, claimed two SSC Tournament Titles, and won a SSC Regular Season Championship. In addition, he was part of the NCAA Sweet 16 team in 2018 and was named the fourth-best Assistant Coach by Coachstat.net.   Bryant has worked with eight All-Conference players, four All-District selections, three NCAA All-Americans, three NCAA All-Region players, one Newcomer of the Year, and one All-Freshman honoree. Off the court, he mentored 16 NABC Honors Court selections. Playing Career Bryant played two seasons at Eckerd College, earning All-Conference honors in both of those seasons. He led the Tritons to the 2004 SSC Championship while making two appearance in the NCAA National Tournament. During his time, Bryant’s teams averaged 23 wins with a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2003. Bryant ended his time at Eckerd, ranking ninth in field-goal percentage (55.1), 12th in points per game (13.1), and 14th in rebounds per game (6.5). Personal Bryant graduated from Eckerd in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He led them to their first District Championship in 50 years during the 2012-13 season. In addition, Spinner guided Boca to a pair of state playoffs while winning two conference championships.   Playing Career Spinner was the only two time All-State basketball player at Boca Raton HS. He led the county in scoring as junior (23.4), and was second as a senior (21.0). Spinner went on to play four seasons at Westminster College, earning Honorable Mention All-Conference honors in 2009-10. As a freshman, he led the conference in three-point shooting percentage.   Personal Spinner graduated from Westminster College in 2011 with his Bachelors in Elementary Education (K-6). He then received his Master’s degree from Arkansas State University in 2018 in Athletic Administration.

Payton Hulsey

Payton's Practices Entering his second year as an Assistant Coach of the men's basketball team Helped the Seahawks to a 26-6 overall record and a 14-2 mark in conference action Assisted the Seahawks to an NAIA National Tournament appearance in 2025 Coached three All-Conference players including two on the first team Assisted in one NAIA All-America honor Off the court, three players were named NAIA Scholar Athletes Part of three wins against NAIA Top 25 teams Pre-Keiser Prior to joining the Seahawks, Hulsey spent two years at Campbellsville University as the assistant men's coach and head JV coach for the Tigers. In two seasons at Campbellsville, the Tigers won 29 games and held an 18-11 record on the home floor. Before coaching the Tigers, Hulsey spent time as a coach for his alma mater, Southwind High School. In 2018, Hulsey traveled to Ürümqi, Xinjiang, China to be a personal basketball trainer for the Xinjiang Tigers. He worked in China during the Chinese Basketabll Association's 2019-2020 season, assisting NBA G-league Champion Jarnell Stokes and NBA Champion Ian Clark.   Playing Career In college, Hulsey played his final year of college basketball for the College of Charleston Cougars. He made 30 starts in 31 games leading the team in steals, and was named to the 2016 Coastal Athletics Association All-Defensive Team. Hulsey also played for Eastern Florida State College and Western Kentucky. In high school, he helped the Southwind Jaguars to the 2013 Tennessee Class AAA State Championship. He was named to the 2011-12 "Best of Preps" Class AAA Boys Team by the Memphis Commercial-Appeal as a junior.   Personal Hulsey graduated from the College of Charleston with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Matt Wargo

Coach

Wargo's Wisdom Enters his first year as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Developmental Head Men's Basketball Coach Pre-Keiser Prior to Keiser, Wargo spent two years coaching at Lake Worth Christian High School. As the Head Men's Basketball last season, the team went 16-12 under Wargo and made an appearance at the FHSAA State Playoffs. While coaching at Lake Worth Christian, Wargo also spent time as a trainer in the South Florida area, helping local players enhance their skills. When he wasn't coaching, Wargo taught U.S. History, World History, and AP Human Geography. Before taking the position at Lake Worth Christian, Wargo coached for St. Paul Lutheran Church and School. Wargo led the team back-to-back FLAA State Championships in 2021 and 2022 and earned three LBAA National Tournament bids in his time at the school.   Personal Wargo graduated from Florida State University in 2017 with his bachelor's in education. He and his wife Abbey are expecting their first child in August and reside in Boynton Beach.
