Myles Russ enters his second season as head coach of the Keiser football program. He was named head coach of the Seahawks on January 29, 2024. Russ became the second coach in Keiser history after serving six seasons as the assistant head coach, running backs coach, and recruiting coordinator. Pre-Keiser Prior to coming to Keiser, Russ spent five seasons at his alma mater Robert Morris as the head running backs coach. He was then selected for the Bill Walsh Minority Internship for the NFL, working with the Buffalo Bills. Playing Career Russ accumulated 4,271 career rushing yards which still stands as a Robert Morris career record. Russ carried the ball 818 times in his career, losing just one fumble in the process. Russ also punched in 22 touchdowns for his career and averaged 100 yards rushing per game during his career. Russ was a 2010 preseason All-American, NEC Player of the Year, and NEC All-Conference member. He is also a Hall of Fame member. Personal Russ received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management at Robert Morris in 2011 and went on to complete his Master of Science in Instructional Leadership in 2014. Russ and his wife, Alexandrea, have two daughters, Averie and Audrie. Kevin Hayes
Assistant Coach
Kevin Hayes enters his first season as the Keiser golf assistant coach, Hayes joins Keiser after founding Hayes Performance Consulting, LLC, a South Florida-based mental performance company specializing in golf. Prior to launching HPC, Hayes served as a Mental Performance Consultant with Barry University’s men’s and women’s golf programs. Over two seasons, he conducted more than 150 individual and group sessions, designed mental performance programs tailored to athletes’ goals, and collaborated closely with coaching staffs to foster a high-performance culture. Hayes also worked at Miami Shores Country Club as a starter, where he managed tee sheets, supported tournament operations, and ensured a seamless member and guest experience. Personal Hayes earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Georgia State University in 2023, where he was recognized on the President’s and Dean’s Lists. He is pursuing a Master of Science in Human Performance with a specialization in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology at Barry University, with graduation expected in May 2025. He also holds an Associate of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arizona.

He also served as the boys and girls wrestling coach for the Chiefs. Woods was also a coach at Fort Pierce Central. Kelleher File Kelleher enters his second season with Keiser as defensive backs coach and co-special teams coordinator Part of a staff that led Keiser to its third straight National Championship Game appearance in 2024 Guided Keiser to its sixth consecutive berth in the NAIA Football Championship Series in 2024 Keiser claimed its third straight Sun Conference title in 2024, going a perfect 6-0 in league action this season Coached the 2024 Sun Special Teams Player of the Year The Seahawks have produced four all-conference defensive backs under his watch and two on special teams Pre-Keiser Kelleher comes to Keiser after spending the 2023 season as defensive quality control at Eastern Kentucky. Before joining the EKU staff, Kelleher served as the cornerbacks coach and head strength coach for the University of Charleston football program. In 2021, Kelleher worked Mount Saint Joseph as the stars coach and special teams assistant. After the season, Kelleher was promoted to secondary coach. He also worked at Ohio Dominican and the University of Cincinnati. Personal Kelleher walked on to the Ohio State football team and was a member of the program from 2015-17. Kelleher played corner at Ohio State and was coached by Kerry Coombs. A Mason, Ohio, native, Kelleher played his high school ball at Archbishop Moeller and helped the Crusaders win the 2012 Division I state title. That season, Wake appeared in six games for the Seahawks completing 24-of-39 passes for 344 yards and a touchdown. He came to Keiser during the 2022 season. Prior attending Keiser, Wake played at Southwest Baptist University (2019-2021). Wake was a four-year starter at Kings Academy High School in West Plam Beach, Florida. Burke began his coaching career as the quarterbacks coach at Tates Creek High School (his Alma Mater) in 2020. Playing Career Burke played quarterback and wide receiver at three different schools during his collegiate career. He was a member of the Middle Tennessee Blude Raiders football team, appearing in three straight bowl games (2016 Hawai'i Bowl, 2017 Camellia Bowl, and 2018 New Orleans Bowl) before heading to West Palm Beach to play for Doug Socha and the Keiser Seahawks in 2019. After claiming the 2019 Sun Conference Championship, Burke played at Avila (Mo.) Sean Bowens

Bowens File Bowens enters his first season with Keiser as the defensive line coach Pre-Keiser Prior to joining the Keiser staff, Bowens was the defensive coordinator at The Benjamin School. During the 2023 season, the Buccaneers allowed just 11.5 points per game, finishing 8-3 on the year. In 2023, the Buccaneer defense allowed just 79 rushing yards per game and 111 yards per game through the air. He began his tenure at The Benjamin School in 2020 as the head defensive line coach, serving in that position for two seasons before being promoted to defensive coordinator. Bowens began his coaching career in 2019 at his alma mater Treasure Coast High School where he was the assistant defensive line coach. Bowens was defensive lineman for the Harding Bisons (2015-2019). Personal Bowens earned a general studies degree at Harding University in 2019.

Justin Taylor

Taylor File Taylor enters his first season with Keiser as the linebackers coach Pre-Keiser Prior to joining the Keiser staff, Taylor was co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at NCAA Division III Mount St Joseph University in Delhi, Ohio. In this four years with Lions, MSJ won the HCAC Championship three times (2002, 2023, 2024). Under Taylor's leadership, the Mount's defensive line has garnered multiple accolades, boasting two HCAC Defensive Player of the Year, three all-region selections, and 12 All-HCAC selections. Before working a MSJ, Taylor was defensive line coach and quality control at Saint John Paul II Academy in Boca Raton, Florida. Taylor was a four-year member of the Ohio Northern University football team Personal Bowens earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from ONU’s James F. Dicke College of Business Administration in 2021.

There he served as the team's safeties coach (2022-23) and defensive backs coach (2020-21). Before going to UAlbany, Davila spent four seasons as a Defensive Backs Coach at California University of Pennsylvania, helping improve the Vulcans’ defensive pass efficiency from 79th in 2015 to third in 2016, and the Vulcans’ total defense from 138th to fifth in the same span. In 2019, the Vulcans ranked first in rushing defense. Previously, Davila was a Safeties Coach for one season at James Madison University, with prior stops at Otterbein University and Capital University. Davila received the National Football League’s Bill Walsh Minority Internship during the summers of 2013 and 2014. In 2013, he interned with the Minnesota Vikings, followed by a stint in 2014 with the Houston Texans. He spent time in the high school ranks, coaching at Shaw High School and Richmond Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio. In his first job after graduation, he was an outsider linebackers coach at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. Personal A native of Miami, Fla., Davila attended Youngstown State, where he was a defensive back and linebacker. He was a member of the 1994 and 1997 National Championship teams. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 1998 with degrees in business administration, marketing management, and economics. Davila and his wife, Emily, have two daughters, Gabriella and Kylie. The Ortiz File Ortiz enters his fifth season as a member of the Keiser staff Serves as the Wide Receivers Coach, Pass Game Coordinator, and Recruiting Coordinator – third season He served two years as an assistant, starting as the defensive line coach in year one before moving to wide receivers coach (2018-2019) Has helped the Seahawks to a 48-9 overall record and 29-2 conference mark Helped guide the Seahawks to the 2023 NAIA National Championship Part of a staff that led Keiser to back-to-back National Championship Game appearances (2023 & 2024) The Seahawk’s receiving corps totaled a school-record 3,321 yards (school record) in 2024 In 2023, the Seahawks produced 193 receptions (third-most in school history) with 2,477 yards receiving (No. 3 all-time at Keiser) The Seahawks made their first NAIA playoff appearance in 2019, falling to No. 10 University of Cumberlands (Ky.) Part of the program’s first undefeated season in 2019 with a 9-0 record Helped Victor Alvarez, Jr., garner All-America Honorable Mention recognition in 2018 Coached one all-conference defensive lineman, one tight end and three wide receivers Before Returning to Keiser Ortiz returned to Keiser after stints at Florida Atlantic, the University of Hawai'i and the University of West Florida. During the 2020 season, Ortiz worked at FAU as a defensive analyst working with Jim Leavitt as the Owl made an appearance in the Montgomery Bowl. The following season, Ortiz was an offensive analyst (wide receivers) at Hawai'i, as the Rainbow Warriors appeared in the Hawai'i Bowl. In 2022, Ortiz served as the running backs coach at the University of West Florida. During his time with Argonauts, Ortiz was named D2 Coach of the Rise by Our Coaching Network as West Florida won the 2022 Gulf South Conference and advanced to the National Semifinals. Ortiz coached two all-conference running back as Shomari Mason (first team) averaged 7.9 yards per carry and Ra'veion Hargrove (second team) averaged 8.3 yards per attempt. Pre-Keiser Prior to Keiser, Ortiz spent time with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Florida Tech, University of Houston, and University of Miami. At UM, Ortiz served as a Player Personnel Assistant with Coach Manny Diaz, helping recruit the 13th ranked class in the country and was part of the Russell Athletic Bowl win. In his time with Houston, he was a Defensive Intern and worked with Player Personnel. With Florida Tech, Ortiz worked with former Defensive Coordinator, Dan Owen and was in charge of the Outside Linebackers. Personal Ortiz was a Student Assistant working on defense at McNeese State during his undergrad years. His primary role was with linebackers and Coach Lance Guidry. Ortiz helped the squad to a 10-0 record and a Southland Conference Championship. The team set the scoring margin record for FCS to FBS with their 53-21 victory over USF.
