Head Coach

Shevchik's 15th year as the head coach of Keystone College's baseball team. During his tenure at the helm of the program, Coach Shevchik has built the Giants into a regional power that is consistently ranked among the top-20 in the nation, has made two appeareances and the NCAA Division III Collegiate World Series, and finished as the NCAA Division III National Runner-Up in 2016.  During his career at Keystone, Shevchik has compiled an impressive, 507-159 overall record for a .761 winning percentage. Since 2010, Coach Shevchik has seen seven players selected in the MLB Draft: Rob Rogers (2013 - Dodgers), Brian Henry (2011 - Diamondback), Blaine O'Brien (2011 - Indians), Yazy Arbello (2010 - Diamondbacks), Sean Murphy (2010 - Athletics), Victor Lara (2010 - Diamondbacks), and Eric Groff (2010 - Diamondbacks). Additionally, Coach Shevchik has seen 15 former Keystone players sign independent contracts with MLB organizations. In adddition to his success at Keystone, Coach Shevchik has excelled as a summer ball manager in New England since 2007 and was recently named the manager of the Brewster Whitecaps of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League after a highly successful, eight-year run as the manager of the Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.  Coach Shevchik led the Westerners to five NECBL playoff appearances and the team finished as Western Division Champions in 2010 and 2012.  Coach Shevchik, who reached the 100-win plateau in the league in 2012, coached more than 25 players who were selected in the MLB Draft including 12 who were taken in the 2014 draft alone.  In 2011, Coach Shevchik coached the NECBL All-Star team to a victory over Team USA at Boston's historic Fenway Park.  At Keystone, Coach Shevchik has guided the Giants to eight-straight Colonial States Athletic championships, 12-consecutive overall conference titles, and nine-straight trips to the NCAA Regional Tournament highlighted by appearances in the 2011 and 2016 NCAA Division III Collegiate World Series including this past spring's NCAA National Runner-Up finish. Coach Shevchik has been named the CSAC Coach of the Year five times - 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, and 2016. In 2016, Coach Shevchik led Keystone to the most decorated season in it's illustrious history as the Giants posted a 40-11 overall record, won their eighth-straight CSAC title (giving Coach Shevchik his 500th career victory with a win in the championship game), claimed the NCAA New England Regional Championship to advance to the NCAA Division III Collegiate World Series where Keystone won the Pool B bracket with three straight wins before finishing as the NCAA National Runner-Up after falling to Trinity (Texas) in the national championship series.  Coach Shevchik earned Coach of the Year honors from three different organizations by being selected as the ABCA/Diamond Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year, the D3baseball.com Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year, and the CSAC Coach of the Year after leading the Giants to a 15-3 record in conference play as Keystone earned the top seed in the conference playoffs for the seventh time in eight seasons in the league.  Following the season, the awards rolled in Coach Shevchik's Giants including 11 All-CSAC selections, seven Mid-Atlantic All-Region picks, and two All-American honorees in senior pitcher Felix Baez and junior outfielder Chris Triano.  Baez was also named the CSAC Pitcher of the Year and the Mid-Atlantic Regiona Pitcher of the Year by two different organizations (ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com).  Additionally, seven Giants earned CSAC Winter/Spring All-Academic Team honors for excellence in the classroom. In 2015, Coach Shevchik led Keystone to a 33-14 overall record while the Giants won their seventh CSAC crown in as many years since joining the conference while earning a berth in the NCAA Regionals for the eight-straight season.  Placed in the tough New York Regional bracket, the Giants advanced to the final four of the regional including an elimination win over #11 Baldwin Wallace, who competed in the 2014 Collegiate World Series.  The Giants went 12-6 in in highly competitive conference schedule before sweeping three-straight CSAC playoff games as the #2 seed.  Coach Shevchik had nine players earn All-CSAC honors including CSAC Pitcher of the Year  Baez, who was the fifth-straight Keystone player to earn the award.  Additionally, five players - seniors Gaston Rojas and Kevin Luciano along with juniors Baez, Alex Herceg, and Julian Lanfranco earned D3baseball.com All-Region honors while Rojas, Luciano, Baez, and senior pitcher James Dunning were also selected to the ABCA/Rawlings Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team.  Additionally, Rojas was named the CSAC Scholar Athlete of the Year while 10 Giants earned CSAC Winter/Spring All-Academic Team honors for excellence in the classroom. In 2014, Coach Shevchik helped the Giants overcame a 3-9 start to the season to finish with a 37-14 overall record and earned the top seed in the CSAC playoffs after going 16-2 in conference play where they would go on to win the CSAC championship and earn a berth in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament.  Coach Shevchik's team also boasted the CSAC Player and Pitcher of the Year in Lymbel Guerrero and Mike Pembleton.  Seniors Guerrero, Pembleton, junior Rojas, and sophomore catcher Cody Darley, were each named to the D3baseball.com All-Region Team after the season.  Guerrero, Rojas, Darley, and Ricky Riscica were also named to the ABCA/Rawlings Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team. In 2013, Coach Shevchik guided Keystone to their fifth straight CSAC Championship and sixth consecutive trip to the NCAA Regional Tournament, where the Giants finished as the runner-up in the Mid-Atlantic Regional. The Giants posted a 37-10 overall record including a 17-1 mark in conference play behind the play of 11 All-CSAC honorees including seven First Team selections. Keystone's pitching staff led the nation in ERA and ace Rogers earned CSAC Pitcher of the Year Honors as well as First Team All-Region and First Team All-American honors while closer Adam Krebs was a Second Team All-Region selection. Keystone finished the season ranked 12th in the nation and was the NCAA Division III statistical champion in ERA with a 2.07 ERA for the season. The 2012 season saw the Giants put up 37 wins, while picking up a dozen All-Conference selections. The Giants, who fell a game short of the Mid-Atlantic Regional title game, once again produced the CSAC Player of the Year and the Pitcher of the Year. He also helped mold a pair of All-Americans during the 2012 season. The 2011 season was a memorable one for Coach Shevchik and his squad. The conference coach of the year guided the Giants to a 38-win season and a berth in the NCAA Division III College World Series, marking the first time ever that Keystone has made the trip.  The Giants boasted eight All-Conference selections, as well as the conference and Regional Player of the Year and a Second Team All-American. The 2010 season saw the Giants put together a 30-win season and another CSAC championship. In addition to capturing Coach of the Year honors in the conference, Coach Shevchik once again saw one of his players earn Player of the Year laurels.  The 2010 season also saw the Giants have the conference Player of the Year of the sixth-straight season and an All-America honor, the third in the the last two seasons. Coach Shevchik and his Giants picked up right where they left off, as the Giants entered a new conference in 2009 with the same results. He led the Giants to a mark of 40-6 and the team's second straight NCAA tournament berth. The Giants advanced to the title game of the Mid-Atlantic Regional. The Giants once again dominated the conference post-season awards with Keystone players picking up Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors, with coach Shevchik also capturing the Coach of the Year award. Coach Shevchik's 2008 squad captured its third conference title in the past four years, while also earning the program's first trip ever to the NCAA Division III Baseball Championships. He can also take pride in the fact that for the fourth consecutive year, the conference Player of the Year wore the Keystone colors and for the second straight year, the Giants also staked claim to the conference Pitcher of the Year. Following the 2005-2006 season the Giants repeated as the champions of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) claiming their second straight conference championship. The team also earned a return trip to the ECAC South Region baseball championships, where the Giants advanced to the title tilt. During the 2005-2006 campaign, Coach Shevchik guided the Giants to the NEAC championship and then followed that fête up two weeks later by leading the team to the ECAC South Region Baseball Championship. As a result of his team's accomplishments Coach Shevchik was named as the coach of the year in the NEAC. During the 2004 campaign he earned his 100th career victory while leading the Giants to a 30-win season. The 2004 edition of the Giants earned a trip to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships. Under Coach Shevchik, the Giants captured the Fall 2002 EPCC and PCAA championships and coach Shevchik was also named the PCAA state coach of the year. The Giants set a school record for victories during the 2002-2003 campaign, finishing with a record of 46-13. Season number one was a memorable one as well for the rookie coach. Coach Shevchik captured Coach of the Year honors in the EPCC and led the team to a championship in the EPCC and a runner-up finish in the NJCAA Region XIX. The Giants also set what was a then school record for wins in a season with 42. Coach Shevchik joined the Keystone baseball coaching staff in January 1998 as an assistant. He has been instrumental in developing the young and talented pitching staff In 1993 and 1994, Coach Shevchik was an outstanding pitcher and outfielder at Keystone. Following his graduation from Mid Valley High School and his time at Keystone, his talents allowed him to continue his baseball career at East Stroudsburg University. Coach Shevchik, who earned the 2016 Keystone Professional Staff Award for Excellence, also serves as the advisor to Keystone's Student-Athlete Advisory Committe (SAAC) and work study coordinator. He resides with his wife Maria and daughters Brielle, Giana, and Raina in Clarks Summit, Pa. Ryan Smyth

Associate Head Coach

Smyth's sixth year on the coaching staff of Keystone Colleges baseball team. Coach Smyth, who was elavated to Associate Head Coach after six years as an assistant coach, serves as the team's hitting coach and he is also responsible for the Giants recruiting and catchers. Over the past six years, Coach Smyth has been instrumental in helping to lead Keystone to six CSAC Championships, six NCAA Regional appearances, and two trips to the College World Series highlighted by the Giants' NCAA National Runner-Up finish in 2016.  Under Smyths guidance as the squads hitting coach in 2014, Keystone posted an overall team batting average of .339 and averaged 8.3 runs per game. In 2015, the Giants posted a .329 batting average as a team and averaged 7.9 runs per game followed by a .328 batting average and 7.8 runs per game average in 2016.  Smyth has coached over 20 players that have signed professional contracts at Keystone College over his past 5 years.   In previous summers, Smyth has spent six years in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) both as a hitting coach and manager, in that time he has reached the playoffs three times including a championship round birth. In the summer of 2016, Smyth will be heading up to the Cape Cod Baseball League with Keystone head coach Jamie Shevchik to assist with the Brewster Whitecaps.   A two-year standout player at Keystone after stints at Boston College and Brookdale Community College, Smyth began his collegiate playing career at Boston College in the highly competitive Division I Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) before transferring to Brookdale (NJ) Community College where he was a First Team All-American.  Smyth then moved on to Keystone College where he closed out his collegiate career with two outstanding seasons for the Giants in which he helped the team post a combined record of 70-15. Smyth hit .349 with 87 hits, 19 doubles, 21 home runs, and 73 RBIs in his two season at Keystone and ranks 4th in home runs in a season (13) and ranks 5th all time for home runs in a career (21) after only playing for two seasons at Keystone.   After Keystone, Smyth continued his playing career, signing a professional contract with the Evansville Otters in the Frontier League.

Ryan Smyth '11

Associate Head Coach

Ryan Smyth began his coaching career at Keystone College following a two-year playing career with the Giants. A New Jersey native, Smyth has been a key member of the Keystone coaching staff, earning a promotion to associate head coach after six seasons as an assistant. He also serves as the head coach for the Giants’ junior varsity program. Smyth has built an impressive résumé at the summer baseball level, coaching alongside head coach Jamie Shevchik with the Brewster Whitecaps of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League. The duo helped guide Brewster to league championships in 2017 and 2021. Smyth was named manager of the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League on November 18, 2022. Prior to his time in the Cape Cod League, Smyth spent six seasons in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) as both an assistant coach and manager. As a player, Smyth competed collegiately at Boston College and Brookdale Community College (N.J.) before transferring to Keystone. He helped the Giants compile a combined 70-15 record during his two seasons and earned All-CSAC Second Team honors in 2009. Brian Del Rosso '12

Assistant Coach

Brian Del Rosso enters his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Keystone College baseball team. Del Rosso began his coaching career at Diamond Nation, where he served as a pitching coordinator and head coach for the Diamond Jacks. He also brings experience at the highest level of summer collegiate baseball, currently serving as the pitching coach for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League. As a student-athlete, Del Rosso began his collegiate playing career at Northampton Community College, earning first team all-conference honors in his lone season with the Spartans. He later transferred to Keystone College, where he established himself as a standout player for the program. Del Rosso was named Second Team All-CSAC in 2009–10 and earned Honorable Mention All-CSAC recognition in 2012. He was also selected to the all-tournament team at the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Regional. Del Rosso played a key role in Keystone’s historic run to its first NCAA Division III College World Series appearance in 2011, helping the Giants finish third nationally. Following his collegiate career, he continued playing professionally with several independent league teams. In recognition of his contributions to the program, Del Rosso and the 2011 Keystone College baseball team were inducted into the Keystone College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021. A New Jersey native, Del Rosso graduated from Keystone in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management.

Darren Hagan '25

Assistant Coach

Darren Hagan enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Keystone College baseball program in 2026. A former Keystone standout, Hagan played for the Giants from 2024–25 and helped lead the program to back-to-back conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. He concluded his collegiate career with an impressive list of honors, earning First Team All-United East recognition twice. In 2024, he was named a Region 4 First Team selection by both D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings. Hagan was also a two-time Academic All-District honoree by College Sports Communicators and was selected to the United East All-Sportsmanship Team in 2025. He ranks sixth in the Keystone record book for career hit by pitches (21). Hagan began his collegiate playing career at Coppin State, where he earned all-conference honors in 2021 and was a member of the Eagles’ 2022 conference championship team. He launched his coaching career during the summer of 2025 as an outfield coach with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Hagan graduated from Keystone in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management. He currently serves as a graduate assistant in the Student Success and Retention Department at the college.

Cam Hale '24

Coach

Cam Hale begins his second season as the director of baseball operations and recruiting coordinator for the Keystone College baseball program. A former Keystone student-athlete, Hale played for the Giants from 2023–24 and was a key contributor to two conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. Prior to his time at Keystone, he competed at both Centralia CC and Green River CC. Hale has also gained experience at the highest level of summer collegiate baseball. He currently serves as the director of baseball operations for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He joined the organization in the summer of 2024 as a baseball operations intern and has since continued in an expanded role. Hale graduated from Keystone in May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
