Brian Paredes

Brian Paredes enters his second season as an assistant coach in 2019. Paredes came to King's after graduating from Division I Long Island University Brooklyn in the spring of 2018. Paredes was a member of the men's soccer team all four years at LIU Brooklyn. As a freshman in 2014 he was one of the top first year players in the Northeast Conference appearing in 15 matches and starting 14 of those as a defender. He had the fifth-most minutes played on the team and recorded 11 complete matches for the Blackbirds.    As a sophomore defender in 2015 Paredes saw action in 14 matches including four starts. He helped the Blackbirds record an 11-5-5 overall record, go 7-0 in conference play, and win the Northeast Conference Tournament to qualify for the NCAA College Cup where the team was eliminated in the First Round on penalty kicks to #23 Rutgers. He appeared in 12 matches including seven starts as a junior defender in 2016. He scored his first collegiate goal in the Blackbirds' 7-2 victory over Central Connecticut. He was named a captain as a senior in 2017 and played 12 matches , including 10 starts as a defender. He helped lead the Blackbirds to a 6-9-3 overall record and 4-2-1 mark in conference play where the team fell to top-seeded St. Francis College Brooklyn in the NEC Tournament Final. Paredes played in 50 total matches during his four-year career including 31 starts, He recorded two points with one goal on 11 shots including three shots on goal. During his time at LIU Brooklyn Paredes also played for FC Buffalo in the NPSL for two years. During his time in Buffalo he was selected to represent the Midwest Conference in the 2018 NPSL Player Showcase. Prior to his time in Buffalo he played for and was named a captain of the PDL Westchester Flames for two seasons. This past summer the Queens, NY native was a member of Reading United in the USL League 2. The United made it all the way to the championship match falling 1-0 to Flint City Bucks. Prior to LIU Brooklyn he graduated from Newtown High School in his hometown of Queens, New York where he was named to the All-Queens team by Queens Times Ledger.

A familiar face returns to the King's College men's soccer program ahead of the 2024 season as Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Cheryl Ish announced that Brandon Raynor will take over the reigns as the fourth full-time head coach in program history. Keenan joins King's after a two-year stint as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Denison University where he was involved in all aspects of the program such as game and practice preparation, scouting reports, film study, and recruiting. During his time in Ohio, Keenan helped lead the program to a 22-10-5 overall record, including a 2021 North Coast Athletic Conference Champion title to give Denison its first title since 2009 that also helped the staff earn the 2021 United Soccer Coaches Region VII Staff of the Year honor. Prior to Denison, Keenan spent four seasons with the men's soccer program at The Catholic University of America where he served as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator that saw the Cardinals grow their program from just one conference win in 2016 to a post-season appearance in 2017 and an overall record of 42-27-8 in four seasons. This stint was capped off with a Landmark Conference Champion crown in 2019 where the staff collected the 2019 Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year accolades. Keenan is also no stranger to the Middle Atlantic Conference as he competed for the Warriors as a goalkeeper from 2011 to 2014 before joining the coaching staff after graduation for a successful 18-2-2 and championship campaign in 2015. On the pitch for Lycoming, Keenan was a MAC First-Team, NSCAA First-Team All-Region, and team Most Valuable Player in the 2014 season while also helping the Warriors to a conference title and an NCAA Division III National Tournament appearance while being named the MAC Tournament MVP in 2013. Outside of collegiate athletics, Keenan also holds a role as Staff Coach and High School Boys Director of Coaching at Barcelona Academy in Columbus to help ensure high quality standards regarding the execution of the methodology across all staff coaches and teams in his age group. He also held a stint as the Head Coach of the DC Stoddert U15 and U16 Red club programs while in Washington, D.C. from 2019 to 2020. Keenan brings with him a plethora of experiencing outside of traditional coaching duties including managing budgets and assisting with Denison men's soccer Day of Giving to help the program's fundraising efforts to ultimately enhance the student-athlete experience. "Connor has been a part of successful teams as a player and as a coach which really stood out," added Ish. "During the interview process he as able to share his vision for creating a culture that paves the way for success while providing a great environment for our team." Keenan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice with a minor in domestic public policy from Lycoming in 2015 before adding a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Management from The Catholic University of America Busch School of Business in 2018. He will begin his duties with the Monarchs on June 20th ahead of their 2023 campaign.
