Before last season, he spent the 2021-2022 season at Jackson College (MI) and before that was the Head Coach of Victory Rock Prep (post-grad) in Bradenton, FL. Lockhart also served as Director of Basketball Operations and Assistant Coach at Florida International University at the Division 1 NCAA level from 2014-2018. Lockhart, who grew up in the Bronx, New York, came to FIU after spending the 2013-14 season as an assistant coach at Lincoln College of New England in Southington, Conn. During his stint with the Wildcats, they had one of the most successful seasons in program history, as the squad went to the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time in school history, and finished ranked eighth in the country. Other notable accomplishments were the team winning its first NJCAA Region 21 title and District 8 championship. The Wildcats finished the season with a 23-9 record, marking the schools first-ever 20-win season. Lockhart was also a student-athlete advisor at the school, where he oversaw academic responsibilities for the student-athletes. Before working at Lincoln College, he served as an assistant director at the Betances Community Center in the Bronx. He was responsible for developing educational, recreational and social programming for over 600 children, adults and seniors in the Bronx and around the New York City area. He additionally communicated with politicians and community leaders to create partnerships between community based organizations and the Center itself. Previously, he spent 2007-10 as the Chief of Staff for NYC Council Member Maria Baez. He oversaw all aspects of the office, including the legislative agenda, constituent affairs, and council member Baezs priorities for the city budget. Lockhart represented Baez at district and city hall meetings and spoke about the legislative priorities. He managed the overall city budget and handled district and legislative office bills and purchase order forms. Lockhart handled district and legislative issues for the council member in conjunction with the mayors office as well. Lockhart served as a program manager at Youth Places in Pittsburgh, Pa. from 2004 to 2007. There, he worked and communicated with high-risk youth ages 12-18 who needed intervention and basic life skills to be successful in the future. Additionally, he coached the basketball team there. Previously in Pittsburgh, he was an academic coach in 2004, where he was responsible for developing college prep programs. Lockhart earned his BA in social science and minored in African studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where he had a very successful basketball career from 1996 to 2000. He was a team captain and a three-year starter for legendary head coach Ben Howland while with the Panthers, averaging double-digit points for Pitt. He went on to play professionally for the Denain Voltaire basketball team for three seasons in Denain, France. He led the squad in scoring each year and helped the team advance to the French Cup in 2003. Lockhart was born in Fribourg, Switzerland. His father, Thomas Lockhart, played at Manhattan College and was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the fifth round of the 1976 NBA draft and played overseas for 20 years. Lockhart resides in Queens, New York. He has a 19-year old daughter, Aiyanah.
