Lethbridge College Women's Volleyball

Bio Annah Schwark was named the Kodiaks Women’s Volleyball head coach in 2016 after assistant coaching with the program from 2014-2016.  Schwark has established a wonderful team culture both on and off the court, valuing who her team is both as athletes and people. “At the end of the day as a coach, I want my athletes to come through this program and leave as kind, confident and empowered women,” says Schwark.  When asked about the most important things when recruiting athletes Schwark shared, “Maturity! I love athletes that are brave enough to put themselves out there and take on navigating the recruiting process themselves. It allows us to get to know them better and build a relationship before the come in September.”  Schwark played two years of NCAA Division II volleyball at Coker College in South Carolina (2011-2013). Schwark, originally from Coaldale AB, returned home and suited up for the Kodiaks for the 2013-2014 season.  Schwark is currently working towards her NCCP Volleyball Level II certification. She also received a Justice Studies Corrections Diploma from Lethbridge College. 

Bio Jamie Brown is entering her first season as an assistant coach with the Kodiaks women's volleyball program. Prior to joining the Kodiaks coaching staff, Jamie was the head coach for Zone 1 at the 2024 Alberta Winter Games, leading her team to a gold medal finish. She also coached the U16 girls team with Panthers Volleyball Club during the 2024 club season. Jamie is a trained Development Coach (Level 1) through the NCCP, and is committed to supporting athlete growth through a technical, competitive, and athlete-centered approach. Jamie brings a strong playing background to her coaching, having competed professionally in Sweden with Engelholms Volleybollsolskap during the 2024–2025 season. Prior to that, she played five seasons with the Lethbridge College Kodiaks (2017–2023), as an outside hitter. During her time with the Kodiaks, she was a two-time ACAC All-Conference selection, named the 2023 ACAC South Player of the Year, earned CCAA All-Canadian honours, and was recognized as the 2023 Senior Athlete of the Year by the Lethbridge Sport Council. Originally from Fort Macleod, AB, Jamie is a proud Kodiaks alumna and is excited to give back to the program and community that shaped her as both an athlete and individual.

Bio Sianna Cherweniuk-Hummel has been an assistant coach with the women's volleyball program since the 2023-2024 season. Prior to coaching with the Kodiaks, Sianna was a head coach with LVC, coaching U18 men's for two seasons, and U16 girls for two seasons. Her U18 men's teams had top 10 finishes in Alberta at provincials both seasons. She also coached Sr. and Jr. boys volleyball at Immanuel Christian High School in 2021 and 2022. In 2018 Sianna coached for ACE Volleyball in Calgary, running their summer beach volleyball program.    Sianna is a trained Advanced Development Coach (Level 2) for indoor and beach volleyball, and is working on her Performance Coach (Level 3) certification.    She played volleyball for Medicine Hat College in 2014-2015, Barton County College in 2015-2016 and three seasons with Lethbridge College from 2016-2019 - playing primarily rightside, and a secondary position of middle blocker. Sianna holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge, two graduate certificates from University of Lethbridge (Clinical Addiction, & Couples and Family Counselling), and has a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from Mizzou. Sianna brings her knowledge of counselling and psychology into her coaching approach.
