Jimmy Chau
Head Coach
Chau began his time as a Pioneer assistant coach in 2005, making 2016 his 12th season as a Lewis & Clark coach. A native to Portland, Chau played three years of varsity tennis at Lewis & Clark (his fourth year was spent overseas) and was named captain and MVP his senior season in 2001. He was selected as an ITA Scholar-Athlete All-American while playing for the Pioneer and graduated with Delta Mu Delta honors in Business and Economics. Outside of his team coaching duties, Chau teaches classes at the college, coaches at various camps around the area and co-directs Nike Tennis Camps at Lewis & Clark.

Adam Buchwald
Assistant Coach
Buchwald joined the Lewis & Clark tennis program as an assistant coach in 2012. Buchwald has a long history in tennis that started in Minnesota and moved to the west coast. During his collegiate career at Whitman College, he also ran a junior program in Minnesota taking a group of 12-17 year olds to tournaments throughout the state. After college Buchwald was the assistant coach for the Whitman Womens team, while working as a pro at the Walla Walla Country Club, and coaching JV tennis at the local High School. Buchwald dipped back into Womens collegiate tennis in the 90s for one season with Linfield College, coaching the Wildcats to second place in the Northwest Conference and having the player of the year at #1 singles. When he is off-court, Buchwald also happens to serve as the Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Lewis & Clark.

Marco Pineda
Assistant Coach
Pineda begins his fifth season on the Pioneers coaching staff after joining the institution in 2012. Prior to Lewis & Clark, Pineda coached at Gonzaga University for five years as the assistant men's tennis coach where he coached numerous All-West Coast Conference Team student-athletes. As a three-year letter winner at Gonzaga, Pineda finished with 45 career wins including a 23-14 overall record in 2007. His senior season, Pineda was awarded All-WCC honorable mention accolades, becoming the second Gonzaga player in history to earn the conference award. His 23 wins during his senior campaign set a school record for single-season victories. In addition to his tennis accolades, he was named to the WCC All-Academic team as well as being named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Scholar Athlete in 2007. Pineda earned his degree in public relations from Gonzaga in 2007 and Master's Degree in Sports & Athletics Administration from Gonzaga in 2010. Pineda still competes throughout the Pacific Northwest, including winning the 2012 Men's Open Adult Sectionals in Yakima, Wash. and earning the USTA/PNW Player of the Year in 2013-14.
