Dave Andrews

Assistant Coach

Andrews was named the first-ever full-time golf coach at Lewis & Clark in 2011 and begins his sixth season leading the program in 2016. Andrews joined the Pioneers following five seasons as the head mens and womens coach at Carroll University, a Division III institution in Wisconsin. At Carroll, Andrews inherited a womens team in decline, with only two golfers on the roster and no incoming recruits. Over the course of two seasons, Andrews brought in several new recruits and helped the team shave nearly 40 strokes.    Andrews led the Carroll womens golf program to its first-ever Midwest Conference Championship. At the same tournament, Carroll had its first-ever Midwest Conference individual medalist, while three players were named to the All-Conference team. By winning the conference championship Carroll received its first automatic qualification to the NCAA Division III Womens Golf Championship.  In his final season at Carroll, Andrews helped guide the Pioneers to their second consecutive MWC title and second appearance in the NCAA Golf Championship. Andrews was also named the 2010-2011 MWC Womens Golf Coach of the Year. On the mens side, Andrews helped Carroll win the Northern Division of the Midwest Conference for the first time. The Carroll mens golf team went on to win the Northern Division of the MWC five consecutive times.  In his final season at Carroll, Andrews helped the Pioneer men to their first NWC Championship since 1971. Like the womens team, the men earned their first MWC individual champion, and also earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Mens Golf Championship. Andrews was named Midwest Conference Mens Golf Coach of the Year.  Prior to joining the Carroll staff, he was the head golf coach for girls at Waukesha High Schools (combined team) from 2000-2005. While there he coached the Waukesha schools to two Classic 8 Conference Championships and two runners-up finishes. His 2005 team qualified for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association State Championship where they finished in third place. During his time as a high school coach eight of his players went onto compete at the college level. Before moving into the coaching ranks Andrews served as the Head PGA Golf Professional at Merrill Hills Country Club in Waukesha, Wis. (1989-2006) and prior to that was the Head Professional at Bulls Eye Country Club in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. from 1978-1988. He is a class A-1 member of the Professional Golfers Association of America.
