Shawna Cyrus

Head Coach

Cyrus came to the Pioneers after serving as an assistant coach at Oregon State for four seasons. Prior to joining the Oregon State staff, Cyrus coached the Fort Vancouver High School softball team, taking the struggling program to the district playoffs her first season. Cyrus was later named District Coach of the Year. Cyrus also played professional softball in the Netherlands, while also serving as a coach. During her time in the Netherlands, she helped lead the team to the European Cup Championship in Forli, Italy in 2003. While playing with the Dutch club, she also served as the head coach of the 19-under junior team, which won the Holland Cup. Cyrus, an Oregon State graduate, is a former All-Pacific-10 Conference player and three-time All-Pac-10 selection. As a player, Feldt spent one season at Mississippi State University before competing from 1999-01 at Oregon State. One of Oregon State's all-time great players, Feldt dominates Oregon State's career record books with her name dotting eight different batting categories, including a No. 3 ranking in singles and No. 2 in triples and a No. 5 ranking in hits and runs scored. As a shortstop, she led the Beavers to three NCAA Regional Tournament appearances and was a two-time NCAA Regional Tournament selection. Feldt also ranks in 15 Oregon State single-season record book categories. She helped the Beavers reach the 2006 NCAA Softball World Series, while guiding the 2007 team to the NCAA Regional Tournament. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Oregon State in 2001. She married Donnie Cyrus in August of 2012.

Shianne Smith

Assistant Coach

Shianne Smith joined the Lewis & Clark coaching staff in the Fall of 2022 and works primarily in the bullpen with the pitchers and catchers. In her first season with the Pioneers, Smith guided a young staff of six pitchers to a 19-19 record with a team ERA of 4.59 (fifth in program history). Lewis & Clark's staff tied the program record with four saves and posted the second-most shutouts in a single-season (five) and third-most strikeouts (150). The Pioneers saw four pitchers throw 40 innings or more, with three of those pitchers being in their first collegiate season.  During her most recent season with Lewis & Clark, Smith has coached the Pioneers' first pitcher to make First Team All Conference with multiple Pitcher of the Week awards, completing the schools second highest wins in a season.Lewis & Clark's Softball Team had a record breaking year finishing 28-16, second in conference, as well as second in the Conference Tournament. This is the best that Lewis & Clark Softball has done since 1979.  Smith played collegiately at Division I Seattle University (BA) and the University of Utah (MA). At Seattle University, she competed in 111 games, while holding the school record for strikeouts per seven innings (7.45), opponent batting average (.231), and highest number of strikeouts in a game (15). While competing at the University of Utah, Smith held opponents to a .252 batting average with 100 strikeouts in the season in 99 innings pitched. During her career, she was named Pitcher of the Week multiple times, as well as receiving offers to play professionally around the world. During the offseason, Smith works as a substitute teacher in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade, while continuing to share her pitching skills through local lessons and clinics. Recently, she coached the 12U All-American team for Region 9, and 2022 18A State Champions, Strictly Softball. At Seattle University, Smith earned a Bachelors Degree in Humanities for Teaching, including a specialization in Education Leadership and Special Education with a 3.8 GPA. While attending the University of Utah, she completed a two-year Master program in one year studying Education, Leadership, and Policy with a 4.0 GPA.
