Jim Lange

Head Coach

Lange is in his fourth season as the Lindenwood mens lacrosse head coach in 2017. Lange has been a part of the Lindenwood program since 2004.   Lange led the Lions to another double-figure win season in 2016, and they reached the ECAC Championship game for the second straight season. Lindenwood had two victories over top-10 nationally-ranked teams throughout the season.   Five players were named to the ECAC all-conference team, including first-team selections for Tyler Schermann and Connor Laird. Lindenwood also placed one person on the all-rookie team. Off the field, 22 Lions were named to the ECAC All-Academic team. In 2015, Lange led Lindenwood to its best season in program history with a 14-4 overall record, and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Tournament. The Lions went 13-2 in the regular season and finished tied for third in the ECAC with a 5-2 mark. Lindenwood reached the ECAC Tournament finals after its second straight victory over nationally-ranked Seton Hill.   Lange coached the first All-American in the programs NCAA history when Graeme Hossack earned first-team honors. Hossack was also the ECAC Specialist of the Year, and was one of four players on the ECAC all-conference teams. Three Lions also earned ECAC all-rookie honors. In the classroom, 24 players were named ECAC All-Academic, and Jon George became the first mens lacrosse player at Lindenwood to earn Academic All-American honors.   In his second season, Lange helped Lindenwood average nearly two goals a game higher than 2013, and the defense allowed 1.36 goals fewer a contest. The Lions ranked in the top-10 in the nation in both scoring offense and scoring defense.    In his first season as a head coach in 2014, Lange led the Lions to a 5-7 overall record, including a 3-4 mark in ECAC play. Lindenwood was among the nations leaders during the season in groundballs and caused turnovers. Hossack was named the ECAC Specialist of the Year after leading the nation in caused turnovers, and Connor Laird was named to the ECAC All-Rookie team. Off the field, 19 players were named to the ECAC All-Academic team. Lange started his time at Lindenwood as a player and became one of the top goal scorers in the team's MCLA history. When he finished his playing career in 2007, he was the Lions' all-time leading scorer. He was also a four-time all-conference selection, a conference MVP, and an MCLA All-American. After graduating, Lange moved right into a coaching role with the Lions. In his first four seasons, Lange helped Lindenwood go 61-23 at the MCLA level. During that time, the Lions won three conference tournament titles and advanced to three national tournaments. In the program's first two seasons against NCAA competition, Lange helped the Lions to a record of 16-12. In his final two seasons as an assistant coach, six Lions were named to all-conference squads. Lange is a St. Louis native who began his lacrosse career at DeSmet Jesuit High School. He has also coached at DeSmet and for the St. Louis Samurai select team.

Scott Stark

Assistant Coach

Stark enters his fourth season on Jim Langes men's lacrosse staff in 2017, and his third as the teams Defensive Coordinator. He was promoted to a full-time assistant coach for 2015 after serving as the program's graduate assistant for the 2014 season.    In 2016, Lindenwoods defense continued its annual improvement by having a GAA of 7.73. The Lions ranked sixth in NCAA Division II in scoring defense. Midfielder Tyler Schermann and defensemen Connor Laird were both first-team all-conference picks, and goalie Ben Besancenez and midfielder David Corazalla were second-team selections. Last season, Starks defense dropped its GAA to 8.04 a game, 1.45 lower than before he arrived at Lindenwood. The 2015 defense ranked eighth in NCAA Division II in scoring defense, and his top defender, Graeme Hossack, was second in the nation in groundballs and sixth in caused turnovers. Hossack became the first Lindenwood player to earn All-American honors, and he was the ECAC Specialist of the Year.   The teams defensive performance in 2015 played a big role in the program having its top season in program history. The Lions went 14-4, tied for third in the ECAC regular season, and they advanced to the ECAC Tournament Finals and the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first times in program history. In his first season at Lindenwood, Stark helped Hossack earn his first ECAC Specialist of the Year award. The Lions won five of their final seven games that season to give the team momentum heading into 2015, and they allowed just 8.14 goals a game in that final span.   Prior to coming to Lindenwood, Stark was at the University of Minnesota-Duluth where he volunteered for two seasons as an assistant coach and was the programs head recruiting coordinator. Stark graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a bachelor's degree in business administration. As a player, Stark started his career at Minnesota-Duluth as an offensive midfielder, and finished it on the defensive side of the field as a long-stick midfielder.     Stark is a native of Minnesota and started his lacrosse career at Prior Lake High School. He graduated from Lindenwood with a masters degree in communications with an emphasis in training and development in the spring of 2015.
