Amy Eagan

Head Coach

Amy Eagan was named head coach of the Lindenwood women's basketball program on March 28, 2023. Named the 2024-25 OVC Coach of the Year, Eagan led the Lions to the third-best win improvement in all of Division I, finishing the season with a 23-11 record, including a 16-4 mark inside conference play. The Lions made an appearance in the OVC Tournament Championship game. Both of those marks for regular season and conference wins are the most in Lindenwood’s NCAA Era. After the regular season the Lions went on to earn the programs first postseason berth at the Division I level, making it all the way to the Super 16 of the WNIT. Eagan coached a pair of All-Conference players in Ellie Brueggemann and Brook Coffey. Bruggemann was tabbed to the first team, while Coffey landed on the Second and All-Newcomer squads. In year one under Eagan, the Lions posted a 7-21 record. Lindenwood found itself in many close games, dropping eight contests by seven points or less. The black and gold led the OVC in turnover margin at +3.68. Ellie Brueggemann had an outstanding freshman campaign, averaging 13.8 points per game, which led to second team and all newcomer selections. Makayla Wallace set a new single season program record for steals with 72. She averaged 2.6 steals per game last season, tied for tops in the conference. It also ranked 24th nationally.    Eagan arrives in St. Charles, Mo. after spending three seasons as the head coach of Drury University women’s basketball.  Eagan completed her 14th season as a collegiate head coach, as she had stops at Truman State, Ashford, and St. Ambrose.   Eagan brings a career mark of 274-151 (.645) to Lindenwood, including four-straight seasons of 23 or more wins.  Eagan has led three schools to the NCAA Division II tournament for a total of five appearances, as well as one NAIA tournament appearance.  Eagan has claimed five conference titles in her 14 years, including three-straight.   In three years at Drury, the Panthers went an impressive 87-9 under the leadership of Eagan.  The Panthers won the GLVC Championship in all three seasons, and appeared in the NCAA Tournament each year.  Eagan was named the 2021 WBCA NCAA Division II Coach of the year.  The Panthers were the 2021 National Runner-Up, as they garnered the NCAA Division II and GLVC Player of the Year.  Eagan earned GLVC Coach of the Year honors this past season, while four of her student-athletes earned all-conference recognition.  In all, Eagan has coach 13 All-GLVC selections while with the Panthers.   Before her stint in Springfield, Mo., Eagan coached the Truman State Bulldogs for six years.  From 2013-2019, the Bulldogs went 111-62, as Eagan is the all-time leader in wins at Truman State.  Eagan led Truman State to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, along with a GLVC title in her first year in Kirksville, Mo.  Eagan spent three seasons at Ashford, collecting a record of 28-63.  Eagan began her coaching career in 2005 at St. Ambrose, where she went 48-17 with a MCC Championship and a NAIA Tournament appearance in two seasons.  Eagan earned 2007 MCC Coach of the Year honors in just her second season as a collegiate head coach.   Eagan was a standout student-athlete at Truman State, where she left as the all-time leader in assists (529), steals (328), and steals per game (3.3).  Eagan ranked fourth at Truman with her 1,527 career points as a Bulldog.  During the 1998-99 season, Eagan set the school record for points in a game with 46, and was later named honorable-mention All-American.  After her collegiate career, Eagan moved on to play professionally in Norway.  In 2012, Eagan was inducted into the Truman State Hall of Fame.   With roots deep in the state of Missouri, Eagan earned all-state honors while playing at South Shelby High School in northeast Missouri.  Eagan earned her bachelors in exercise science from Truman State in 2001, before collecting a master’s in organizational management from Ashford in 2012. Jordan Mellott

Associate Head Coach

It also ranked 24th nationally.  Mellott arrives at Lindenwood after spending the last three seasons at Drury University, where the Panthers accumulated an 87-9 overall record. He was named the NCAA-II Assistant Coach of the Year by the WBCA following the 2021-22 campaign that saw the Panthers go 32-5, 17-3 in the GLVC, and win the team's sixth-straight conference championship. Before his time in Springfield, Mo., Mellott spent two years as an assistant coach at Adams State. He began his career in coaching at the high school level with stops at Har-Ber high school in Springdale, Ark. and Leavenworth high school in Leavenworth, Kan. As the head coach at Leavenworth, he led the team to a 64-11 record in three seasons, including a state title in 2015. Mellott graduated from Benedictine (Kan.) College in 2012 with a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, and he earned a Master’s degree in Education, School & Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in Positive Coaching from the University of Missouri in 2017.

Aaron Beadle

Assistant Coach

Aaron Beadle enters his second season as an assistant coach on the women's basketball staff in 2025-26.  Under Beadle''s guidance in 2024-25, Lindenwood posted the third-best win improvement in all of Division I, finishing the year with a record of 23-11, including a 16-4 mark inside conference play. Both of those marks for regular season and conference wins are the most in Lindenwood’s NCAA Era. After the regular season the Lions went on to earn the programs first postseason berth at the Division I level, making it all the way to the Super 16 of the WNIT. Ellie Brueggemann and Brooke Coffey earned All-Conference honors during the year.  Beadle arrived in St. Charles, Mo. after spending the last three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Hardin-Simmons University in Abeline, Texas. In three years, Beadle guided the team to a 71-13 overall record. Last season, the Cowgirls finished the year with a 26-4 record, which culminated in an American Southwest Conference regular season championship and a sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA DIII tournament. Paris Kiser was named an All-American by D3Hoops.com Prior to his time in Abeline, Beadle was an assistant coach at Wartburg College from 2019-2021. In those two seasons, the Knights compiled a record of 38-7 and he helped lead Wartburg to its fourth-straight conference title in 2019-20. Beadle coached one WBCA Honorable Mention All-American during his tenure. Beadle got his start in coaching when he spent three seasons as a student assistant at Stephen F. Austin. In that time, the Lady Jacks compiled a record of 73-21. Beadle received is bachelors in kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin in 2019. He obtained his master’s in education from Xavier University in 2021.

Lindsay Ward

Ward spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Benedictine University. In 2021-22, the Eagles won 17 games and made a NACC semifinal appearance. Ward primarily worked with the guards and coached Hana Piro to finish seventh in the NACC in assists per game (3.0) and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3). Prior to her time in Lisle, Ill. she served as a graduate assistant at William Woods. During that time Ward coached one all-conference performer and helped recruit the 2021-22 America Midwest Conference Freshman of the Year. Ward is no stranger to the Lindenwood women’s basketball program as the Crocker, Mo. native suited up for the Lions from 2016-2020. Over that time, Ward amassed over 1,100 career points and holds the single-season and program record for assists with 433. At the conclusion of her senior season, the Lions had gone to three straight NCAA Tournaments and had broken into the WBCA Top 25 rankings multiple times. Ward capped off her career by earning All-GLVC honors her senior year while also earning Academic All-Conference honors.

Makayla Wallace

Coach

Makayla Wallace enters her first season on the Lindenwood women's basketball staff as the Director of Operations. A former Lindenwood Lion, Wallace played her final two seasons in the Black & Gold ending her career during the 2023-24 season. She appeared in all 28 games that season, which marked the first of head coach Amy Eagan's career at LU. She averaged 7.3 points, 3.0 assists, 1.9 rebounds, as well as 2.6 steals per game in 26 minutes a night. During her last season, she set the Lindenwood single season record for steals, surpassing the old record of 60 with a five-steal game against SIUE on February 15th and finishing with 72 steals on the season, including a career-high seven-steal effort in a double overtime win against Tennessee State. Prior to her time at Lindenwood, Wallace also made stops at Evansville and North Dakota during her playing career.
