Alicia Kemnitz

Head Coach

Kemnitz has turned a new program -- 2009-10 was the first year for Lindsey Wilson swimming -- into one that annually competes at the NAIA National Championships where the men's and womens teams have combined for six top-10 finishes in six seasons. At the 2016 NAIA National Championships, Kemnitz led both the men's and women's teams to the highest finishes in school history as the men finished eighth and the women took sixth. Kemnitz coached the first NAIA Swimming National Champion in school history after Ronni Borders took home the title in the 100-yard breaststroke. Borders later earned All-American honors in the 200-yard breaststroke, becoming the first two-time All-American in program history. At the 2015 NAIA National Championships, the Blue Raider women matched their previous best-ever finish at the championships with their second-straight 10th-place finish while the men's team placed 14th. The 2014-15 season saw a historical moment as Laura Stephenson became the program's first-ever NAIA All-American after finishing in third-place in the 200-yard butterfly event. This past years national championship extended Kemnitzs streak of sending swimmers to every NAIA National Championships since becoming the Blue Raiders coach. For her efforts in 2014-15, Kemnitz was named the MSC Men's Swimming Coach of the Year. During Kemnitzs six seasons, the Blue Raider men are 38-21 in dual matches while the women are 37-20, the women finishing with a 10-4 mark in 2014-15. The Lindsey Wilson men just missed a perfect dual season in 2013-14, going 6-1 during the season in head-to-head matches. Both squads suffered just one dual loss in 2015-16 as the men went 7-1 and the women went 8-1. Both the men's and women's teams earned CSCAA Scholar Team honors in 2016 and six student-athletes were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes this past season. Kemnitz has been honored three times as an American Swimming Coaches Association Coach of Excellence. Outside the pool, Kemnitzs hard work -- along with other Mid-South Conference coaches has resulted in swimming becoming a conference-sanctioned sport in 2014-15 with a championship and all-conference honors being awarded before the national championships. Prior to the 2014-15 season, Kemnitz and Lindsey Wilson had hosted the Mid-South Conference Invitational -- a non-championship event -- for two seasons on the Lindsey Wilson campus. Before coming to Lindsey Wilson, Kemnitz served one season as assistant coach at Lycoming (Pa.) after four years as the head coach at Kings (Pa.). While at Lycoming, Kemnitz helped lead the womens program to the Middle Atlantic Conference title. It was the programs first conference title in 13 seasons. She served as the teams recruiting coordinator and aided in writing, organizing and leading practices. While at Kings, Kemnitz led the program to 34 school records during her four seasons and coached the first three all-conference swimmers since 1998. The program also grew from two swimmers following her first season to 19 in her final season. As a student-athlete at Hollins (Va.), Kemnitz was a two-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference performer. In 2007, Kemnitz, along with another inductee, became the youngest member of the Hollins Athletics Hall of Fame. Kemnitz graduated from Hollins in 2002 and later completed her masters degree from Old Dominion (Va.) in 2005.   Collegiate Coaching Career Kings College: Head Coach (2005-09) Lycoming College: Assistant Coach (2009-10) Lindsey Wilson College: Head Coach (2010-present)   Contact Information Office: Doris and Bob Holloway Health and Wellness Center Fax: Mail: 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY 42728 [email protected]   Alicia Kemnitzs Collegiate Career -- Mens Swimming Year School Dual Record Postseason 2005-06 Kings 0-13 MAC Championships 2006-07 Kings 1-11 MAC Championships 2007-08 Kings 5-7 MAC Championships 2008-09 Kings 5-9 MAC Championships 2010-11 Lindsey Wilson 6-2 NAIA Championships - 16th 2011-12 Lindsey Wilson 6-7 NAIA Championships - 10th 2012-13 Lindsey Wilson 5-5 NAIA Championships - 10th 2013-14 Lindsey Wilson 6-1 NAIA Championships - 12th 2014-15 Lindsey Wilson 8-5 NAIA Championships - 14th 2015-16 Lindsey Wilson 7-1 NAIA Championships - 8th Totals Lindsey Wilson 38-21   Totals Overall 49-61     Alicia Kemnitzs Collegiate Career -- Womens Swimming Year School Dual Record Postseason 2005-06 Kings 0-13 MAC Championships 2006-07 Kings 2-13 MAC Championships 2007-08 Kings 5-8 MAC Championships 2008-09 Kings 7-8 MAC Championships 2010-11 Lindsey Wilson -- -- 2011-12 Lindsey Wilson 8-8 NAIA Championships - 17th 2012-13 Lindsey Wilson 7-3 NAIA Championships - 11th 2013-14 Lindsey Wilson 4-4 NAIA Championships - 10th 2014-15 Lindsey Wilson 10-4 NAIA Championships - 10th 2015-16 Lindsey Wilson 8-1 NAIA Championships - 6th Totals Lindsey Wilson 37-20   Totals Overall 51-62     Alicia Kemnitz begins her seventh season as the head men's and womens swimming coach at Lindsey Wilson College in 2016-17.
