Josh Cooperwood
Assistant Coach
Josh Cooperwood, a coach with nearly 15 years of NCAA Division I sideline experience, joined the Loyola University Maryland women’s basketball staff as an assistant in May 2025. Cooperwood comes to Loyola after spending the last two seasons at Memphis where he worked with a pair of American Athletic Conference players and led the recruiting for the highest-ranked player in program history. Prior to joining the Tigers’ staff in his hometown, Cooperwood was a member of coaching staffs at Winthrop, Georgia Southern, Louisiana, Mississippi Valley State, North Carolina Central and his alma mater Tennessee State. Cooperwood spent the 2022-23 season at Gardner-Webb where he helped lead the Bulldogs to a 29-5 overall record, a perfect 18-0 mark in Big South Conference play, the league title and a first-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament. After he wrapped up his college and professional playing career, Cooperwood got his start at Tennessee State where he was the director of women’s basketball operations for a year before being promoted to assistant coach in 2012. By his penultimate year at the Nashville school, Cooperwood helped the Tigers win the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) crown in 2015 and reach the program’s first NCAA Tournament since the 1993-94 season. Overall in his career, he has coached 13 all-conference selections, the 2023 Big South Player and Defensive Player of the Year and two conference tournament most valuable players. Cooperwood began his collegiate playing career at Chattanooga State where he was the Tennessee Junior College Athletic Association (TJCAA) Player of the Year and earned NJCAA All-America honors in 2001. He then transferred to Tennessee State and earned All-OVC recognition in 2003. After playing professionally in Europe for nine years, Cooperwood received his bachelor of criminal justice and corrections from Tennessee State in 2013.

Diana Martinez
Assistant Coach
Diana Martinez joined the Loyola University Maryland women's basketball staff as an assistant in June 2023. Martinez, who was twice a Virginia State Coach of the Year at the high school level, comes to Loyola after spending the last two seasons as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Chicago State. She worked throughout all areas of the Cougars' program and helped Chicago State notch its first-ever win against a Big Ten or Power Five opponent during her tenure. Eight of the players on teams Martinez coached earned Academic All-Western Athletic Conference recognition, and one player became the program's first All-WAC honoree. She joined the Windy City school after an extremely successful run as head coach of Highland School where she led the Hawks to the Virginia State Championship in 2019. Her team also won four regular-season and conference titles at the school in Warrenton, Virginia. Martinez earned Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Division II State Coach of the Year honors following her first season with the Hawks (2017-18) and again in 2019-20. She directed the Hawks to a state runner-up finish in 2017-18 and 2020-21 after they earned both the conference regular-season and tournament crowns. Before her time at Highland, Martinez was the head coach from 2011-17 at the Prince William County High School now named Unity Reed (formerly Stonewall Jackson). She oversaw three levels of girls' basketball at the school and led the team to five district and two regional titles. Her side also earned a state finals bid, and 13 players under her leadership signed at the NCAA Division I level. Earlier in her coaching career, Martinez worked at the junior college level, coaching seven players who earned NCAA Division I scholarships at Pensacola State College in Florida. She also worked at the NAIA level at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri, and her alma mater, St. Andrew's University in Laurinburg, N.C. Martinez has coached on the camp circuit with multiple stops that include Duke, Maryland, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Texas, George Washington and Virginia, and she also was a part of the Elevate Elite AAU program as an assistant coach while she was at Highland School. Martinez graduated from St. Andrew's with a bachelor of arts in psychology in 2007, and she later earned her master of education at Central Methodist in 2010 and a master of teaching in special education at Liberty in 2017.

Annalese Lamke
Assistant Coach
Annalese Lamke, who served as Loyola University Maryland's director of women's basketball operations from 2021-23, was promoted to assistant coach for the 2023-24 season. Lamke enters her second season as assistant coach in 2024-25. She oversaw the "post" group in her first season, which included Patriot League First Team honoree Lex Therien, who posted career numbers on the year. The Greyhounds also saw increases in wins and Patriot League wins on the season. "Watching Annalese develop as a young professional gives me great joy," said Head Coach Danielle O'Banion. "She is a servant leader and a great teammate; she earned the opportunity to transition her role and will continue to help elevate our program." Over her first two years as a member of the Loyola staff, Lamke coordinated logistics for the women's basketball including travel, practice operations and equipment. Prior to joining Loyola's women's basketball program, Lamke spent the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant at Bethel University where helped the Royals finish a program-best 26-2 during the 2019-20 season, winning an MIAC title to clinch an automatic spot in the NCAA Division III tournament. She was heavily involved in scouting and video coordination at Bethel, and she was the position coach for WBCA All-American and West Region Player of the Year Taite Anderson. She also assisted with a variety of administrative tasks, including creating and managing the team's social media accounts. As an undergrad, Lamke played at Minnesota for O'Banion where the latter was an assistant coach. During Lamke's career, she was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection who was honored as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2019. She appeared in 88 games overall for the Golden Gophers, averaging 7.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while serving as a team captain during her senior season.

Hope Lewandoski
Coach
Lewandoski joined the Greyhounds women's basketball program in the summer of 2023. Following her graduation from Maryland, Lewandoski served as an administrative assistant in the athletic department at George Washington University and later completed The Foundation of Sports Sales Academy with the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers. Lewandoski was a two-time co-captain for the Terrapins while earning Big Ten Conference All-Academic and Distinguished Scholar honors. She was Maryland's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner and the recipient of the Terrapins' James H. Kehoe Award, an honor given to a Maryland female student-athlete who exemplifies the ideals of sportsmanship. Lewandoski was a student-athlete representative for the VoTERP program and served as the school's representative to the Big Ten's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She was involved in the Maryland Made Leadership Academy, served as the SGA-SAAC student liaison and was the president of FCA. She competed for the Terrapins' women's soccer team from 2017-21, seeing action in 80 matches while starting 53. A midfielder, she scored six goals and had four assists in her career. Lewandoski earned her bachelor of science in kinesiology from Maryland and then later graduated from the university's Robert H. Smith School of Business with her master's of science in business and management.
