Bruce Reid

Head Coach

Reid on the LC sidelines as the head mentor, and the program has taken a huge step forward under his direction in that span. LC had its sixth-straight winning season in conference play in 2015. The 2015 team advanced to the conference tournament semifinals, falling just one goal short of a title game bid. The Hornets scored a huge 10-5 upset win at Roanoke College in the quarterfinals. In 2012, the Hornets finished 11-7 overall while hosting their second consecutive ODAC semifinal match-up. The Hornets were 12-5 during the spring of 2011, including an 8-1 record in conference play. LC made it to the ODAC Championship in 2010, the first trip since 2001, and also posted 14 wins, the second most single-season total in team history. Lynchburg advanced into the ODAC Tournament Semifinals for the first time since 2001 in the 2007 season, and LC had a four-game winning streak in a rebuilding 2008 campaign. The 2006 Hornets finished 7-6 on the year, while the 2005 unit had their best record since 2000 with a 10-4 mark.  Reid, the director of athletic facilities at the College, assisted the LC womens lacrosse program in the spring of 2001. He has more than 15 years experience at various levels as a coach in the sport. He served as the head mens coach at Wittenberg University (Ohio) from 1993-2000, earning the North Coast Athletic Conferences Coach of the Year Award in 1999. He was the mens head coach at conference-rival Virginia Wesleyan College and at Widener University (PA), and was an assistant at the Episcopal Academy (PA). Reid earned his bachelors degree in recreation programming at the University of Maryland in 1982, and his masters degree in recreation administration from Temple University in 1983.
