Northern Vermont University - Lyndon Women's Basketball

Maloney has also had the pleasure of coaching Jackie Wetzel '09, Namoi White '12 and Donna Lawson '13, all of whom went on to score 1,000 points in their Lyndon basketball careers.   Prior to his appointment as head women's basketball coach, Maloney served as an assistant coach with the Hornet mens basketball program for four years. During that time, Lyndon qualified for four-straight Sunrise Conference Final Four appearances, including a 23-6 season in 2006 which included a school record 17 consecutive victories. A 1997 graduate of Whitcomb High School in Bethel, Vt., Maloney was a member of the Hornets' only Division III state championship team in school history his senior year. In that season, Whitcomb set a school record for wins with a mark of 19-3. In his playing days at Lyndon, Maloney competed for two years, highlighted by a Mayflower Conference Championship in 2000-01 and a berth in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Championship Tournament in Branson, Missouri. That feat was recoginized at the 2010 Lyndon Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremonies and to this day the squad is the only Lyndon mens basketball team to qualify for a national championship tournament. Maloney graduated from Lyndon in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he also serves as Lyndon's Director of Admissions.
